Crazy. Was well in control and had an utter meltdown over the umpire calling a let when there was a loud bang during a point. His rant and meltdown went on and on and is probably going to cost him the match. He was well on top when it happened.

Shocking from Nishikori. 4-3 40-0 serving, and got broken. Missed the dolly of all sitters with a forehand volley to an empty court at 40-30 and netted it. Massive turning point. He blinked.

I agree akabula, he has the talent, but he does not win as much as he should I feel
But he is what he is, more important than the Olympics, the US open, in tennis terms

I watch and bet on a lot of tennis and hand on heart given his ranking, i've never rated Nishikoris game. He was just another one-hit wonder like Chang to me. But i don't think ye can blame the testy scot for this defeat. Ken Nishikori was immense and played better than i've ever seen him.

Guinness, he lost the plot entirely over the let when he was ahead. Rattled on to the umpire at a number of changes of end, called out Wayne McEwan to rant at him, ranted at his box, ranted to himself at the back of the court between many points.
Not the actions of a calm man and utterly counter-productive and self-destructive.
Nishikori played well - not taking anything away from him - but Murray pressed the self-destruct button when in charge so I reckon ye can blame the testy Scot for putting himself in danger.
