Some people say that the Brexit was largely about Immigration. Is this so?
Everyone I have spoken to are aggrieved by the Benefits paid to Immigrants and not the Immigrants themselves.
If someone from Europe or Africa comes to visit this country then so what. Let them enjoy the views.
If they seek sanctuary then fine.
If they come to work, so long as they are not taking a locals job so what.
But if they come for the Benefits and go straight to the top of the Housing Ladder in front of millions of natural born citizens and get Thousands of Pounds at the expense of the Locals then surely this is wrong.
Why are the hooligan scum at Calais attacking Drivers and School Buses to get to GB when they already have refugee sanctuary in France?
The simple answer is that Foreign Nationals are getting Huge Benefits in this Country.
Before they invoke Article 50 and do anything else Politicians must STOP BENEFITS IMMEDIATELY and people should Lobby their MPs accordingly.

UNCONTROLLED immigration. Nothing to do with the people themselves.

Got to be the benefits. As you say.. Why risk life and limb in Calais to escape a perfectly safe member country  of the EU?

Another good sensible post by argosy...the benefits are the light bulb to the moths and anyone who disagrees are simply burying their heads in the cement.

https://fullfact.org/economy/migration-and-welfare-benefits/

"Various measures have been introduced since 2013 to restrict welfare access for EEA citizens who are not working.
In particular, new measures mean that EEA jobseekers:

Cannot claim means-tested Jobseekers Allowance (JSA), child benefit, or child tax credit within the first three months of arriving in the UK.

Lose eligibility for JSA if they are still looking for work after a further three months, unless they can givevcompelling evidence of a genuine prospect' being hired, such as a written job offer.

Cannot claim housing benefit

"The current weekly rate of Jobseeker's Allowance is £57.90 for a person under 25 and £73.10 for those over 25."

Can't imagine many migrants are coming for that...

The rate of unemployment amongst migrants from other EU countries is lower than it is for British born people.

I do not think it makes much difference does it?

If they are working here it means one of our own people is not working.

I have yet to understand how anyone lives a life of luxury on JSA?

Under EU rules we cannot stop all benefits to immigrants.

Being out of the eu, uk can now stop paying child benefits to kids abroad...Something that they could not do before and wasnt part of camerons remain deal....

Plus the British bill of rights to look forward too as well.

Just another note about the nice folks in Calais, they were also annoying local residents. No idea if it was mentioned on bbc news or not because I boycott that disgraceful outfit. My guess is, the tape met the same fate as the jimmy Saville totp episodes.

So if the Euros are not getting the benefits how come the Africans et al have new houses, cars and all of them are always on the mobile. So who is paying for all that.
