This drama has a few acts to play out yet, but the main protagonists see it clearly, Europe want's us gone 'Yesterday' ,For their own spiteful, fearful, selfish reasons. David Cameron has kept his word and done the Honourable thing, the rest it seems is just white noise. Personally I would have preferred Cameron to have stayed at the helm for a little longer than 5 months because the currently planned recess runs from 21st July through to 5th September. I don't see how that can now take place??

Losers Get over it, please.

The way that the oil price has plummeted since the Scottish Referendum - thus scuppering their plans for self-funding of Scotland from North Sea Oil - is, or would have been, a financially suicidal decision had they got Independence - making the current market reaction to the Brexit decision look like a tea-party.

If the Scots do have a second Independence referendum their tunnel vision feather preening pride will be the death of them.

I only hope that they DO vote for Independence - It would save England a fortune.

I thought it would be more contentious issue in terms of Northern Ireland in legal terms than I would be in Scotland - due to the Good Friday Agreement (a legally binding international treaty between Ireland and UK). But its not apparently, the Irish Republic wouldn't interfere (not that they can, but if they could I still don't think they would).

(By the way, side-issue, thread on this last year and on and off since. The European Human Rights Act is embedded in the Good Friday Agreement - that will NOT be repealed in Northern Ireland. The Republic would legitimately object as it would internally be very sensitive - Westminster wouldn't touch it. It would end up being a British Human Rights Act (not UK), and then have to deal with Scots (who could veto all day long, and would). EHRA is NOT EU legislation.
