we have had our chance and it looks like we are signing up to everything the EU can give us.  From Tomorrow lets take every immigrant that the EU asks us to take. Lets get rid of the pound and start dealing in the euro. We might aswell go the full hog and become a really full member of the EU and scrap our opt-outs we get.  The majority of the people of the UK wants a federal state of Europe so let them have it. Sadly the GREAT has now been taken away from Britain.  I'm no longer British i'm now a European.  VIVA The federal state ofEurope, And may they rule us forever.

I'm quite amazed that apparently single morning poll that is 52/48, months after the pollsters got it massively wrong, can lead to (brief) ~10.0 price for the 48% side and huge amounts backing the 52% side.

Somethingf feels like it isn't adding up. I'm normally the first to mock conspiracy nuts but ..

I just cant understand this, our polling booth is massively busier than any general election,we have campaigned several times so know to compare. They are onto their second box by lunch time (normally only one) and plan to ask for a third box by tea time and the vast majority of people claim they are voting Leave ???? They must have already announced the postal votes in London, 15 million for Remain !

On what basis, seriously, is everyone saying the referendum result is already known?

I voted mid-morning in the rural home counties. There was a steady stream of people coming in to vote - much more so than in a general election. Mostly elderly (but then again that's the prevailing demographic round here) and with no party apparatchicks wanting to take my details as I left, like you have at an election.

It feels like there's a huge turnout with very little in the way of exit feedback, and with the polls all looking to have the result on a knife-edge?

Only time I was tempted to wager was straight after Jo Cox died but I thought that was a bit sick. Was also thinking the polls were a bit out as some people were afraid to say 'Leave' the same way some are afarid to say 'Tory'.

So many similarities to 2014. Same fear, same tactics, same arguments, sometimes same arguments but on 'different' sides.... The SNP 'vote to save the NHS' appeared at the exact same stage of the campaign.

Better the devil you know is a massive part of the human psyche. That's why the EU happened this way... tiny bit by tiny bit, then getting out is a massive change that people are scared of.

A polling station in England has been forced to remove the St. George’s flag, after a man on social media claimed it was a “dog whistle for the leave campaign” and made the room look “like an EDL rally”.
The polling station, in the Mayfield Athletic Club, London, had left up patriotic a display after a Euro 2016 match. However, after word spread on social media, the Electoral Commission instructed them to remove the national flag.

This is the moment police took the name of a pro-Brexit supporter who offered voters the use of her pen in case of fraud.

Some Vote Leave campaigners have claimed that using the pencil usually found in polling stations is dangerous because their cross could be rubbed out and changed, even claiming MI5 are involved.

Jacqueline Jackson, who was outside a Winchester polling station, filmed the officer taking her details as she argued she was allowed to lend her pen to anyone entering.

Ye see? This is the type of thing i was talking about on another fred, namely that the cuckoos of 'leave' had plenty of opportunity to rip 'remain' into tiny pieces. The fact that they didn't has bothered me from day 1. There has never been a concerted effort from them, otherwise it would have been a walkover..

Our electoral system is failing, it is working on bribery(we give far too much power to women, their vote needs to weighted to ensure

Just checking -  yesteryear  the banks took your money in INTEREST ,these days  you are paying  LESS .

A house in 1989 that cost  60,000 would cost 150,000 in todays currency .

That house today would be 260,000  . At say 10% interest (did hit 15% in 1989 btw) compared with say 5% today on a fixed rate .

Therefore todays house would be cheaper to buy in terms of interest only .
Report Just Checking • June 23, 2016 10:36 PM BST
Coachbuster over a lifetime IF interest rates stay low, perhaps, but you get mortgages on income multipliers, and you're not taking into account inflation either. 10% was a very high figure as well, isn't it historically far more like 5% average I believe.
Report Coachbuster • June 23, 2016 10:36 PM BST
