i used to sneeze in fits and my nose would run for hours.
i was taking contact 400 in the 90's - it was wearing very thin.
getting me down. I heard vitamin C was a possible cure so i started 1000mg tablets.
i'd drop one into a two litre bottle of spring water(fizzes up watch out) drink that all
day. It worked but they've changed the tablets recipe since then? I don't know what
the active ingrediant was - the vitamin c or the asorbic acid. guy in link above tries to explain where to get good vitamin c(bell peppers and kiwi natural stores - along with apple cider vinegar) i get a slight tickle still but all the other stuff has vanished.

you have to stick to it for a while before it kicks in. a tube lasts 20 days. maybe get a good brand. You should google it because my info is twenty years behind me.

Nasonex spray cures mine each year. Prescription only, but worth the effort of going to the GP. Dosage is 2 squirts up each nostril initially, then, once symptoms are under control after three or four days, just one squirt. By the time you've finished a bottle your sinuses will be deadened enough for the rest of the summer not to need to renew the prescription until the next year.

Alternatively move to the coast, which often helps.

Try honey!  must be local to where you live to be effective.

Don't be spending a fortune on brand names like Zyrtec and Clarytin. You need help now so go straight to the chemists and get an unbranded tablet. It will contain the same ingredients as the branded varieties.

In future though plan ahead. http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/allergy-hayfever-relief-tablets-zirtek-equivalent-x-6/prd-s04

Also note there are a few different types of Hay Fever tablet, Loretidine and Cetrizene spring to mind. All work for me but may not work for you so if one doesn't work try a different type.

I've been fine this year until Saturday when I forgot to take my tablet, it will take a few days again to build up my full defence again, I'm sniffling like mad although fortunately no itchy eyes.

i suffered badly for years with hay fever, had every tablet going but they did no good

A man told me to try sucking extra strong mints, or fishermans friends, anything strong of that nature. it works better than any medicine i have ever had.

Give it a go, i bet it works

I used to go to the doc's at the start of every summer. Had an injection, and was fine after. Don't know what was in the injection, but did the job.

I am still a honey man, but sounds like almost anything is worth trying till you hit what works for you.  As Sir Thomas Beecham once said... "one should try everything once, except incest and folk-dancing".
