I've been wearing trainers since I was sixteen. Cannot wear leather shoes anymore. Very uncomfortable.

I look for these attributes in a trainer.

No dip on the back heel grip - I like my tendons and don't need them to be cut into? need the rounded back.

Large shock absorber pad - no plastic beeds.

Leather inside as well as outside to aid grip. Don't want to slide about in shoes if I want to run.

laces that grip? what are they doing to laces? coating them in talc. they keep coming loose. I treble tie. still come loose?

REEBOK classic used to be perfect - i now have to buy from Ebay because you can't find a pair of trainers in the high street for £20 anymore - they want £60 for trainers? Or some fantasy price?

got two pairs for £20 on Ebay - new.

SHOE MANUFACTURERS - just copy reebok classic. It's a recipe for success. Make them in Black. White. and Brown/yellow. I will pay £20 a pair. Need a new pair yearly.

in a few years time I might have to take up a cobbler course just to get a decent pair of shoes.

Ebay, You will find someone with a massive stock of RBK Classics easily. Ive been buyin the odd pair of Nike Cortez, and Timberland boots for work off the same guy in Berlin for years. All Bankrupt JJB stock.

Why would a manufacturer produce zillions of £20 reebok classics when people are happy spending £100+ a pair with better styling? Confused

Always the sign of a tramp.

Agree with you about the heels Zorro. I need durable walking shoes (not trainers) but anything tough enough comes with a nasty raised tab designed to chafe the heel and bruise the Achilles tendon. What's all that about? I have to shear  them off level as best I can before the shoes can be worn. The laces too, as you mentioned, won't stay tied with the normal double bow and need a reef knot to stay in place.

Design your own and get them made in China...then someone like Victor Kiam or Chandler Confused will buy your company.

And then use the money to breed racehorses...give the horses names like......Absorption Pad...Leather Protection...Denial of Sliding...Treble Tie...Lacesnotfitforpurpose...Grip Power...must be a 2000 Gns. winner in there somewhere...
