I have a friendly resident fox, it acts just like a dog and spend quite a lot of time here, even rests in the top of my garden some evenings. A dog has had a go at it and now it's back leg is buggered. Im surprised because the few dog that are around here are well looked after and nobody has a council estate dog around here ffs.
Has anyone ever tried taking a fox to the vets? Im not entirely sure what happens in these circumstances. I reckon I coul tackle it if needed, but what do you do, just put a lead on it like a dog or what?
As many as 100,000 foxes may be killed on roads each year in the UK, and many more are injured. We care for and rehabilitate injured and orphaned foxes at our wildlife centres.
Find out what to do with an injured or sick fox or if you are concerned about a fox cub.

yeah Ive had a look at that JC but this falls between issues. Its well enough to p1ss off if required but badly enough that it will be picked off easy enough. Capturing a fox cant be like putting a bird in a box. Its a tricky scenario, the fu cker will deffo go for me if I try take it in, and what is 'in'? And by the time an rspca person comes it will be gone again.

Well they'd come out for it if you called? My worry would be if they put it down when it didn't need to be of course. How bad is the leg, if you feed it for a week or two will it recover?

Its a tricky situation. Two doors down keep chickens, and obviously the fox is a problem to them.
Its just dragging its leg, first time Ive seen it do it today and its slow moving, but not slow enough not to have vanished by the time the rcspca arrive. I heard a dog barking while the fox was here earlier and wondered what chance it would stand. Im not one for un fair fights, the chicken thing is hard because they cant escape and foxes kill everything and eat only one.
I feel sorry for the fox but equally you could say its justice in the world of nature
