Tony Warren creator of Coronation Street RIP

Anthony McVay "Tony" Simpson, MBE (8 July 1936 – 1 March 2016),[1] better known by his stage name Tony Warren, was an English television screenwriter, best known for creating the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.[2][3] He was also an actor, as well as creating other television dramas, and wrote critically acclaimed novels.

Watched it until boy/boy love was introduced....used to be a MUCH watch in the Elsie Tanner/Len Fairclough days.

If he died 20 years ago people would say " he would be turning in his grave " as what's happened to his beloved programme
Too diplomatic to s l a g the programme off in recent years imo.

twizzle, superb parody of the early days.

Coronation Street spoof of Ena Sharples, Minnie Caldwell and Martha Longhurst, played by Victoria Wood, Lil Roughley and Julie Walters.
