Really sorry to hear that, Blackestnight.

It's awful losing a pet Sad
Report lmfao • February 28, 2016 8:14 PM GMT
Thats some innings- still its sad; stay with him and hold him and you'll see that he'll just drift off with no hassle- and you'll eventually feel better that you stayed with him.

Then- get another one asap - a kitten (better still 2 toms  from the same litter) will get you laughing again in no time- neuter them as early as possible!

cheersCool

Pets are part of the family, great innings for a cat.

RIP moggy but just be glad he had you as a family. Cats know.

We had to get our dog put to sleep a few years back.
She hated the car so we had it done at home.
Vet tranquilised her first and I held her when he administered the fatal dose.
Tis a sad event but I'm glad I was with her and I'm sure you would be to.

Truly feel for you blackestnight. Had to do that twice now and filling up now just remembering.
Take him home and bury him in a sunny spot in the garden.

Hint: take some tissues with you tomorrow, you might need them. My other half was a wreck at the actual moment.

Sorry to hear that, I'm in a similar situation myself. My Scottish terrier has been diagnosed with bone cancer a few days ago.He had a limp for the past month, vets didn't have a clue what was wrong.Took about four xrays for them to notice it.Looks like he only has a few weeks left, he is only eight as well.

Its devestating, really is.Anyway, best of luck blackestnight

22 years is a very long time!

Most peoples pets last more like half as long.

Sorry to hear - but think positive & im sure you'll get over this hard time.

the vet put my cat down two years ago - had him for thirteen years. cos the numbers were out on a blood test. said his kidneys were messed up. Still full of beans. just wretched up too often. seemed like the vet was putting down every other animal when i was there. people crying and breakingdown.
wanted to take my cat home to die at home. vet wouldn't allow me to leave with cat. hated them.

It's just awful when you have to say goodbye to a pet, they are part of your world.

It is over now....I am sure it was for the best, you would not have wanted him to suffer

Very sad for you blackestnight.

When my first cat died I was more devastated than when my mother died, and that upset me tremendously.

But time heals although never completely.

Well done on giving him a great life.

Thanks to all for your kind words. The Mrs and I have been really upset, but watching videos of him chasing allsorts and being a general nuisance have cheered us up no end. Would have been back in earlier but had login issues for ages. Thanks again guys.
