The SNPs State Guardian scheme has come in for flak with parents saying it breaches their human rights. Basically every child under the age of 18 will be given a named mentor who will have a say in their upbringing. Parents were concerned about the suitability of the mentor and felt that, without proper vetting, it could be an opportunity for paedos. Absolute nonsense said the SNP in their normal we don't accept criticism mode. Well it turns out that the parents concerns were spot on with one of the first appointed State Guardians struck off the teachers register for tweeting a fantasy about abusing children.
