In ca. 1986 a mate at work drunk so much at lunchtime, that he effectively passed out and was sleeping behind a bench in a lab. Some senior management came in for a few minutes on a tour and amazingly did not see or hear him.

In the late 80s, myself and ca. 6 mates went to a strip club during a long Friday lunch. One of the lads was on all fours on the stage getting whipped, while another was invited up later and was covered in baby lotion after some err interaction. He returned to work in the afternoon stinking of baby lotion! Grin

ca. 3 years ago, the company I work employed a lady that was a snob. When the photocopier ran out of paper, she asked someone who she should contact to load some paper!

Maybe she had never re-filled the paper on a photocopier before?
Report Stow_judge • January 29, 2016 12:12 PM GMT
If so, she would have asked where the paper goes or something like that.

Leopard is right, stow not very perceptive, why on earth would a snobbish lady not re-fill the photocopier...not that she was snobbish if this is the evidence of stowjudge
this is how misunderstandings occur, another ex. of how the working classes are not capable of logical thought.

Lfc1971 now that's not a working class name Laugh

I know a snob when I meet one. She was expecting someone to do it for her, she was not asking how to do it! It's amazing, how you two are experts on judging someone's character whom you have never met!
She worked here for a year or two and this was not the only evidence of snobbish behaviour in her time. She then took a year off sick before disappearing into the sunset.

Was she a stripper previously?
Report Stow_judge • January 29, 2016 1:22 PM GMT
I don't think so, probably well below her, that sort of activity. Grin

Getting her wobblers out.

My mate got me a stripper on my stag.
Looked ok till the top came off.

We ordered an old one for another mate. Really grim.
One of the lads then took her for a meal n porked her.
His wife left him.

Money Tree ...

wot, his wife left him just for having a meal ... probably came home late, dinner burnt in oven, wife says "you're late, your dinner's in the oven and it's burnt" and he says something like "no probs, I'm late because I went out for a meal with somebody from work" she says "wot you have" he says "pork" and she packs her bags and storms out.

Is he Jewish?

So in 30 odd years of employment, the three most memorable stories are a man sleeping, a man smelling of baby lotion and a lady unable to reload a photocopier?

Marvellous.  There may be a book in this if you just pad out the stories a tad.

I'm an accountant and about 35 years ago I didcovered a fraud in a client by accounting staff member.  Police involved, auditors sued for negligence, I was asked to assist in untangling the books, helping police and prosecting barrister to make case, supporting my employers to sue the auditors and I gave evidence in crown court for 2 days.
Very, very interesting (if you're an accountant) ... bores me now!

So stories so far are rivetting to me.

Be careful what you wish for or every chit chatter and his dog will be telling us how they innovatively stacked a shelf or flipped a burgey ... they will, you know.
