It is all part of West Sussex "LGBT history month".  I was curious to know why non LGBT people are not allowed on this course, smacks of discrimination.  What is the difference between a 'creative writing course' and an 'LGBT creative writing course'.  Genuine question, and as I am barred from attending I am not in a position to find out for myself.

I quickly scanned the title of this thread and thought it was about Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwiches. M&S used to do a cracking one some years ago, but then they replaced the bacon with some sort of wet ham stuff.

Here's your chance to take part in a "Creative Writing Workshop" (no, please don't laugh Mrs) in a South Coast public library, whether the library members or Council Taxpayers like it or not.

For those of who wanting to take part in this no doubt Sensitive, Progressive, Inclusive, Meaningful and Vibrant occasion, you don't even need to be LGBT to participate, you just need to "IDENTIFY" as such.  (My Great-Uncle Wilfred will therefore qualify handsomely. He is a 5ft nothing, extremely pale, white, heterosexual pensioner, but he crucially identifies as a 6ft 6inch bl@ck le$b!an pole dancer named Sha Na Na Shayma Williams).

If you'd like to express yourselves in the same creative writing hothouse atmosphere as Uncle Wilfred/Auntie Sha Na Na Shayma, details of how you can join are below. I'm guessing that at least half a dozen new Shakespeares will emerge. Probably best get a move on, as I'm sure that any number of delegates will be arriving from Abu Dhabi to Zimbabwe.

Fingers crossed they will be publishing the collected works on the West Sussex website.

I live in the said parish and am thinking of attending wearing my Tyson Fury T shirt.

I've enrolled on the course... I think I could write a decent bit of lesbo literature. As a backup I'll copy a few of the letters out of some old Razzle mags. Cool

This is all looking very promising indeed. Excellent initiative indeed Inspector.

Injera my friend, you would surely be welcomed like a native son (or even an unconvincing Pretendy daughter) so attired. Especially by such Tolerant types.

Any attempt to oust you from the workshop would be a grotesque invasion of your Human Right to identify as you see fit.

All this for a workshop on sandwich making?

Mind you, didn't Derby University (Derby ... University .... there's an oxymoron) offer a degree in sandwich making?

Thank you for your email to Worthing library regarding the LGBT creative writing workshops. The workshops have been arranged to recognise LGBT History month, a national event which occurs every year in February. One of the themes that they will be exploring is of identifying as LGBT and this will be taking place in a safe, supportive environment for LGBT people.

We are not barring anyone from attending but as the workshops are aimed at people who identify as LGBT it is unlikely that they would be of as much value to people who do not.

If you are interested in creative writing there are details of groups on the WSCC website , including the Worthing Quills who meet every month in Worthing library plus the Worthing Wordsmiths who meet every week, round the corner in the St Paul’s Community Centre.

Yours sincerely,

I would be tempted to write back and say the day/time/location of the LBGT course is more suitable for you and to ask 'how the course differs from a creative writing course for normal people'.

Alun - not sure the LGBT tribe understand about human rights and free speech when it comes to certain views. I would no doubt be royally rogered from the building.

The course I'm awaiting is the one aimed at followers of Beastiality and Incest. Is that next month?

That sounds like you are trying to smear LGBT people by associating them with Bestiality and Incest which are both illegal.

You wouldn't be trying to do that, would you?

A friend of mine, Bruce Beer from the University of Woolamaloo, has written this little ditty for his first assignment on the LBGT creative writing course:

1.No poofters.
2.No member of the faculty is to maltreat the "Mussies" in any way whatsoever — if there's anyone watching.
3.No poofters.
4.I don't want to catch anyone not drinking in their room after lights out.
5.No poofters.
6.There is no rule six.
7.No poofters.

Do you think they'll like it?

Leopard - for how much longer I ask myself..

Why shouldn't I be allowed to marry my sister and/or my brother. Surely it's my human right. Love an all that. Equality innit.

As for beastiality, why shouldn't it be allowed? I thought we have a liberal society?

Or perhaps there ARE boundaries after all which need respecting...
