Over the years I've tried stuff from then and it's always been rank.

I usually keep a couple of cans of stewed steak in by such as "John West" and a couple of others.

Very handy for a meat and potato pie or curry etc.

Always good, and from the same source, as the cans are stamped on the base as from Brazil.
Usually between about £1.90 and £2.20.

Why the hell did I buy two cans of "Goblin" at 99p each, seduced by the picture of very wholesome looking chunks of steak?

The reality is that is a meat slurry, of declared 40% beef, and the rest is a glutinous mess of gelatinous "sauce"!

I'm ashamed of myself and may have to go to "Confessional"!

I would have been better of Crisp!

It's seriously dire. Do they go out of their way to make it so shockingly bad?

Have to wonder if people go back for more. I remember trying their "Hot Dog" sausages which I threw out.

If I had eaten more than one bite I would have thrown up!

Re the tins of John West at £1.90 to £2.20, what weight are they (400g?) and what is the beef content %.   I ask only because just this morning I purchased from my excellent local butcher, 1.3kg of stewing steak (skirt!) for £7.11.  It is sourced from a farm 4 miles up the road.    This works out at £2.20 for 400g of solid beef.  I know I have to go to the trouble of cooking it instead of warming it up, but....Cool

Avoid Prince's tinned meat.

I'm still suffering the after effects of what looked like a tin of rat's tails in diarrhoea from 20 years ago.
