Anybody tried the new satellite broadband? They say it can reach astronomical speeds.

Do you mean plugs that carry data over mains to extend wifi reception? If so, I use them and they do a good job. I bought mine online from here:

http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-intro.htm

They seem reasonably priced and work fine.

mm, internet booster? If you mean to extend the wifi coverage in your house then there's lots to choose from which do a very good job, I use a Netgear one plugged in downstairs and now have solid wifi throughout the house, it was only about £25, http://tinyurl.com/oeehvp8.  If you mean to speed up internet speed then I don't know what you mean.

How does it work Alpha?

You just plug it in a socket and it then extends the range of the wifi signal from a router.  My router is upstairs at one end of the house, so downstairs at the opposite end of the house the wifi signal was weak and came and went, I've just got the extender plugged in a socket in the middle of the house downstairs so it recieves a good signal from the router then extends it, think of it like another router.  Easy to setup, I think I just plugged it in a socket, pressed a button and it was all done.  My house is a converted barn thing and has a lot of foil backed insulation boards, it plays havoc with a wifi signal (and phone) so the extender has been a godsend.

Yes, an extender that`s what I meant. Thanks guys for the advice and links. I`ll give it a try. Worth a gamble at £25.
