Two of my grandchildren were mascots at the Coventry v Gillingham game on Saturday and what a fantastic day we had. Very big thanks to Coventry for making it so.

We were allowed in the dressing room just about over an hour to kick off to meet the players and have photos with each. The thing that really surprised me was how warm and genuine the players were with the kids. I expected them to be going through the motions but that couldn't have been further from the truth.

I was first in the managers office to shake hands with Tony Mobray and told him it was great to be a Cov fan again and that was all down to him. He said it was going well and lets see what we can do with the rest of the season.

Even got photos with the injured Joe Cole and of course Sky Blue Sam.

Tony Cottee was in the media room but look completely burnt out and unapproachable so we didn't bother trying to talk to him.

The result sealed the day to take us top of the league.

There was of course a lot more to the day for the kids with lots going on before they walked out with the players.

Nice story Bigmo. It must be nearly 50 years since you were last able to point to a league table and see your mob at the top... keep the faith!Happy

Thanks Clouseau. It's been bad for a very long time and even now it's difficult to shake the fear that it's all going to go t*ts up.

Quite shocked with your team blackestnight. Fully expected them to be up there and always thought of them as one of the big teams in this league.
