I've lost 4 stone this year - i'm allowed grass fed butter (kerrygold) and olive oil and coconut oil. No sugar and no carbs. The diet is all about how your body reacts to insulin and estrogens. Your allowed a medallion of meat and tons of green leafy veg. the small amount of meat triggers a fat burning hormone - the green veg(spinach or salad leaves) provides potassium which replaces the hunger pangs for sugar. Got all this from the youtube pages of Dr eric berg. totally made sense to me. his diet theories anyway. did not like the pressure manipulation stuff he was advocating.
the coconut oil has caprylic acid in it - this fights candida. If you suffer from that it's a good fix. i fry up sunflower seeds in the oil. nice. use it as much as i can.
the seeds contain omega oils which will help with arthritis. used to feel terrible joint pains and my back was like broken glass. now getting limber again.
good oils and bad oils - natures oil and factory oil. deep fat frying seems to make it bad.
Vegetable oil cancer link leads scientists to recommend lard and butter as healthier alternatives
Scientists found that heating up vegetable oils led to the release of high concentrations of chemicals linked to cancer, heart disease and dementia Tub of lard Making a comeback? A tub of lard
Cooking with vegetable oils releases toxic chemicals linked to cancer and other diseases, according to new research.
A study has claimed cooks should use olive oil , coconut oil, butter or even lard as a substitute.
Scientists found that heating up vegetable oils led to the release of high concentrations of chemicals called aldehydes, which have been linked to illnesses including cancer, heart disease and dementia.
In contrast, heating up butter, olive oil and lard in tests produced much lower levels of aldehydes. Coconut oil produced the lowest levels of the harmful chemicals.
Official advice has previously advocated the use of cooking with oils rich in polyunsaturated fats - such as corn oil and sunflower oil.
Health chiefs have previously said they are better for the health than the saturated fats in animal products.
Martin Grootveld, a professor of bioanalytical chemistry and chemical pathology, said that his research showed “a typical meal of fish and chips”, fried in vegetable oil, contained as much as 100 to 200 times more toxic aldehydes than the safe daily limit set by the World Health Organisation .

Separate research from a University of Oxford professor has backed up claims that the fatty acids in vegetable oils are contributing to other health problems.
Professor John Stein, Oxford’s emeritus professor of neuroscience, said that partly as a result of corn and sunflower oils, “the human brain is changing in a way that is as serious as climate change threatens to be”.

He believes because vegetable oils are rich in omega 6 acids, they are contributing to a reduction in critical omega 3 fatty acids in the brain by replacing them
Prof Stein said: “If you eat too much corn oil or sun-flower oil, the brain is absorbing too much omega 6, and that effectively forces out omega 3.
“I believe the lack of omega 3 is a powerful contributory factor to such problems as increasing mental health issues and other problems such as dyslexia.”

Official NHS advice is to replace “foods high in saturated fat with lower-fat versions” and warns against frying food in butter or lard, recommending instead corn oil, sunflower oil and rapeseed oil.
However, Prof Grootveld, of De Montfort University in Leicester, who carried out a series of experiments said the advice should now be changed to reflect this evidence.
Researchers now claim there is irrefutable evidence that cooking certain oils at high temperatures actually changes their molecular compound and releases harmful substances.
The tests suggested coconut oil produces the lowest levels of aldehydes, and three times more aldehydes were produced when heating corn oil and sunflower oil than butter.
He said: ”People have been telling us how healthy polyunsaturates are in corn oil and sunflower oil.
"But when you start messing around with them, subjecting them to high amounts of energy in the frying pan or the oven, they undergo a complex series of chemical reactions which results in the accumulation of large amounts of toxic compounds.”

You should not confuse a high fat diet that allows you to lose weight with a healthy diet that would allow you to achieve the same aim. It is certainly debatable what constitutes a healthy diet of course!

So if the lard is good for you,and we all know potatoes are good for you ,that means a big plate of chips fried in lard should be good for you.Sounds great to me,as I love chips.
