Trying to save a few billion for New Doctors or medicines. Hard to do when you pay £7 billion for a new hospital instead of the 1 billion it actually cost to build using PFI. the government could have borrowed at zero percent interest rates. So why do this? Seems like a squeeze so that the NHS is eventually sold out piece by piece to private concerns. Medicines aren't capped in price?
the government could invest in a pharmacutical company and make their own generic drugs. They could hire more permanent staff instead of expensive part timers. It's like they want to waste government cash? They are intent on bending the ruler until it shatters. Labour did the same thing. Privateers.

Govt. policy forces it to be inefficient, hiring expensive agency staff and allowing staff morale to be at an all time low.

Corruption rules in the Public Sector.

I did work in the Defence sector and the relationship between the very large defence contractors and the MoD is, shall we say, very cosy.

When my wife was undergoing treatment at St James's in Leeds, the usual treatment room was out of action for upgrading.

When, six weeks later she was back, it was allegedly finished.

The hole in the ceiling was still there with the five tiles in a corner.

The six framed prints were next to them.

The sister told me that it cost £2,800 to be painted (4.5m x 4.5m floor area).
Allowing for two coats of whatever, it could only take one man two days max.

She said it was a special paint!!!

The four treatment chairs were £2.3k each and nothing special.

Can you imagine what you could do with a £9.2 budget, to furnish a room at home?

Unfortunately this sort of thing is rife. If it's the taxpayer that ends up paying
then you can charge whatever you want, no questions asked. It's all wrong, but what
can you do about it. Nobody in power gives an sh1t.

The NHS is being sabotaged by those teeming in demanding treatment who have nothing to do with your country.

When you tell the world that any of you who are HIV positive are welcome to free treatment ( costing 20 odd grand a year ) don't be surprised when they come, don't be surprised when they are aggressive to your staff.

Your maternity wards are being cluttered by African women ( The Lagos Shuttle ) illiterate in their own language never mind yours, you are not permitted to ask them have they any contagious diseases ( a breach of their human rights ) there have to be consequences.

A fairly simple solution is to emphasise the National part of the NHS and only for the use of the indigenous population, the ones that have paid in.
