In the words of the old song, I think it's

Do wah diddy,  gone gone gone

I miss his take on life, sadly missed, but not forgotten.

At the going down of the sun, We will remember him

"Do Wah Diddy Diddy" is a song written by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich and originally recorded in 1963 by the American vocal group The Exciters.

Strange not seeing him around

Would be interesting seeing him as one gets an imaginary image which will be nothing like him.

What I could never understand is that, apparently, he was a succesfull on course bookmaker until he took an inevitable loss,
and then gave it up!

Do Wah always had a romantic urge for Darcey Bussell.
I wonder if like Slippy Blue, his absence from the forum is due to time taken up
by a new flame?

I miss Do Wah Diddy I loved his view on life

A man undone by a vengeful missus, fancy divorcing just because he was an alcoholic and gambling addict
..that is perfectly normal male behaviour

Women need to show more loyalty, she should have stuck by him, probably the nicest man she ever met

He missed his way I think!

I told him, in all sincerity, that he should write a book

In his unique style, with caps lock on, and the trademark misplaced comma.

There was no stopping him when he got going, and the fact he was so eccentric made him all the more funny.

Add in some crude illustrations (maybe from himself) and he would have a winner imo!

Give it a snappy title and off he goes.

Indeed my absence from the forum HH is finding the true love of my entire kife and after over 40 years of being a gambler I have pretty much lost interest in horse racing which was an all consuming passion for me all my life. I have other priorities now and amazingly enough I don't miss it that much although I still go to tracks like Plumpton for a day out but don't do the daily grind anymore, not even placepots. If you could see the future Mrs. Blue you would completely understand the change in my world Love I do pop in to view the forum though every now and then but not that often these days.

Always liked Do Wah Diddy.  He used to put the forum knobs in their place good and proper.
