Transgender criminal, Tara Hudson, to be jailed with 600 men..

Oh well, that's the "Newsnight" news agenda sorted out for at least the next week.

So, this person was born male, and is "legally" a man (source : BBC article above), but is inexplicably being referred to as a 'she' in the same article.

How does that work exactly?

My pale Uncle Desmond might well think he is an Ebony Face-Sitting Queen called Mistress Peachyar$e but he'll also surely have to go to a men's jail when that time inevitably comes.

alun, when I did jury service one of the cases was a lesbian stealing from a gay man.

During the short trial, the lesbian and the gay man were of course put in the witness box (not together..)

The lesbian referred to the gay man as 'she', whilst the lawyer called the gay man 'he'. When it was the gay man's turn, he referred to the lesbian as 'he'  but the lawyer obviously called her 'she'.

Confused?! We fell about when returning to our jury room!

Is it only in Britain's legal system where these absurd sensitivities are observed?

He is lucky to be transferred to a women's prison, they may have done it for his protection

I think he may still need to be in isolation in a women's prison, it is about protecting women

I person that doesnt fit male or female jails is newsworthy we need to open a transgender jail asap.

I'm going to go on a really unsubtle crime spree as Rogetta - I'll even hand myself in if the police can't catch me - so I can get put in a women's prison.
