The UKIP woman had a perfectly reasonable response, audience response - complete silence.
The Marxist bald Greek ars*hole speaks, every sentence is being clapped like he was announcing their share in a lottery win.

Why do you watch it JC ?, just a controlled propaganda show.

The BBC are leftrotten to the core.
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 10:53 PM BST
I only watch it because the quality banter on the Chit Chat threads make it worthwhile :)
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 10:55 PM BST
But I agree, the BBC news coverage of this issue has been insanely "leftrotten".
This Chris Bryant is a d*ck. He's such a fool ... is he in the Corbyn cabinet?
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 11:08 PM BST
This is very on topic, the Labour MP Bryant who is just full of dim Guardian soundbites, his previous job was:
"Head of European Affairs for the BBC" Laugh

I'm sure he was objective though and there no bias with the Journalism LaughLaughLaughLaugh

Ken Clark: 75 Crazy
Report alun2005 • September 24, 2015 11:12 PM BST
If you think 'Question Time' is a barely-concealed propaganda-fest, it has a close rival in the increasingly ludicrous 'Newsnight'.

The show has become a humiliating shadow of its former self, with a blatant pro-lefty outlook. As I tune in this evening, they broadcast a feeble interview with Farage, and lo and behold we now have an excruciating and straight-faced chat with Frank Moloney.
Report The Leopard • September 24, 2015 11:13 PM BST
QT made by independent company, Mentorn.
Report alun2005 • September 24, 2015 11:14 PM BST
'Newsnight' also had a piece on today's Vibrant Stampede and the many attendant deaths, without asking ANY questions that anyone with an ounce of common sense would.
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 11:17 PM BST
Saying who made it is a complete cop-out. Like when the BBC had that obvious **** audience during the election debate and they said "it was a balanced audience done by an an independent company" but when pressed on it and the actual figures came out, it was obviously a very left wing audience. Who does it doesn't change facts.

I don't find QT or Newsnight even slightly left-wingCool
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 11:31 PM BST
I don't even watch newsnight now as the presenters are all so annoying.
The main looks like he's an anorexic and ill and is weak and annoying and the other, o'Brien or something, is so patronising I want to hit things.
Report Wesdag • September 24, 2015 11:34 PM BST
Yeah, you've really got to laugh at how "balanced" QT audiences are these days.
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 11:38 PM BST
The wierd thing about the greek guy is I dislike his politics but I kind of like him. I think it's because he has a brain in his head, though you may disagree with him. I could imagine an intelligent conversation with him.

Unlike Bryant who is a fatuous soundbite spouting kn*b who likes to talk over people, he's classic modern Labour.
Report blackbarn • September 24, 2015 11:39 PM BST
Wesdag - when did you last volunteer to go on?  Whatever you think of it, the audience is clearly a product of the volunteer population and the selection/screening process.  Call me old-fashioned but I'd be a layer of the latter in the conspiracy stakes.
Report Eeternaloptimist • September 24, 2015 11:49 PM BST
Idiots on the panel making simplistic arguments and idiots in the audience clapping like seals as if the panelists have the first clue. If this is representative then we are truly doomed.

Varoufakis intelligent? Just look at his comments about immigrants built America. Complete fool.
Report Just Checking • September 24, 2015 11:58 PM BST
Well he sounded inteligent enough there. Maybe I'm just comparing him to Bryant Laugh.
Actually now I think about it maybe it's his delivery.
I'm old enough to have heard Plato speak, and he reminded me of him Blush

Yes his earlier comments about "we're all immigrants" and so on were a load of irrelevant left wing rubbish.
Report paddletoe • September 24, 2015 11:58 PM BST
QT is on a bit later in my region but Varoufakis is playing an absolute stormer. I might not fully agree his ideas for dealing with refugees as they are a bit divorced from reality in that your potentially dealing with tens of millions and not hundreds of thousands but other than that he is a very impressive speaker.

The ukip lady made some reasonable points when she spoke to open up the programme but the silence was deafening in the audience reaction. Not a single clap from the entire audience.
Report paddletoe • September 25, 2015 12:05 AM BST
First time I have ever seen Varoufakis speaking at any length but he has a very personable and likeability factor about him.
Report Eeternaloptimist • September 25, 2015 12:05 AM BST
Of course they are loving him paddle. He sounds just credible enough but crucially populistic enough to a audience of public sector half wits. Take it from someone who knows, he's a charlatan.

"The audience are loving him."
Errr.. that's the opening post on this thread Laugh. He's the "Marxist bald Greek ars*hole" I was referring to, when I was pointing out the biased audience makeup. If you did a poll I'm guessing like 60% of them think Corbyn is Jesus.
Report Just Checking • September 25, 2015 12:07 AM BST
paddletoe I also mentioned that at the top of the thread. She was measured and reasonable and didn't say anything bad but got silence, they were literally whooping for everything the Greek guy said.
Report Eeternaloptimist • September 25, 2015 12:07 AM BST
Although I do agree that there is something personable about him and he expresses himself in a calm above the cut and thrust kind of way.
Report paddletoe • September 25, 2015 12:09 AM BST
I don't know enough about him or everything he stands for but I like QT from a purely debating perspective and he is coming across as highly impressive in winning over an audience with a very charming style about him.

Agreed Checking. When Farage resigned they should have put her in charge. Taking him back was lunacy despite him doing well for many previous years. UKIP needs to be a broader church.
Report Eeternaloptimist • September 25, 2015 12:11 AM BST
Come off it paddle. He isn't winning them over. He is pushing at an open door.
Report Just Checking • September 25, 2015 12:14 AM BST
He'll still be signing autographs for the audience, and getting Grauiand groupies back to his hotel room to show them his "rhetorical device".
Report paddletoe • September 25, 2015 12:14 AM BST
Totally agree with you EO on his calm way of putting across points. As a contrast Chris Bryant talks twice as fast but talks in a very calm and slower way. His ideas might not stand up to scrutiny but its easy to appreciate why he is winning over this audience totally.
Report anxious • September 25, 2015 12:16 AM BST

His comparison between immigration to America 200 years ago was not his finest point but would you not agree EO he is very good at putting across general points in a persuasive down to earth way. I appreciate you don't rate him at all but I am specifically taking about his style.
Report wildmanfromborneo • September 25, 2015 12:21 AM BST
Its endemic, this love of the strange and hatred of your own,its a left wing thing.

The audience were whooping and hollering Yanis like it was a rally.
They whooped when he declared there should be no borders, when he said you should take 3 million refugees, dear oh dear.

This is a self loathing audience and a product of your education system which has taught your young to despise your history and culture.

Wildman you cant keep saying people don't love their country just because you have a different idea of what the country should be.
Report paddletoe • September 25, 2015 12:27 AM BST
You have a different idea of what our own country should be Wildman. I would never say you hate your country as I believe the opposite. Its very disrespectful for you to say people many people hate their country when they just have a different view of it.
Report wildmanfromborneo • September 25, 2015 12:30 AM BST
How come they all hate religion, especially European religions yet have this love of the religion of peace.

How come they claim to be feminists yet have no problem with FGM and stoning for adultery.
Report paddletoe • September 25, 2015 12:31 AM BST
They were not applauding him because he was foreign Wildman. You can disagree with his economics but when he make "socialist" arguments which lots of people agree with in principle its no surprise he won over the audition. I think people are also sympathetic to what he fought for in his own country.
Report paddletoe • September 25, 2015 12:32 AM BST
You should not use the word "all" so broadly Wildman.
Report wildmanfromborneo • September 25, 2015 12:33 AM BST
The loudest applause came when he called for no borders,he despises Britain despises the nation state yet the audience loved him.
Report Just Checking • September 25, 2015 12:43 AM BST
paddletoe they were whooping and applauding him like mad from his very first sentence.
One direction get less of an audience reaction.
Report Eeternaloptimist • September 25, 2015 1:07 AM BST
You've seen enough of how I view things to conclude that I don't rate him paddle. In a world of political mediocrity and often idiocy he is a man who thinks about things which is certainly a step up. I was railing against his populism and what you describe as him, putting across general points in a persuasive down to earth way. I don't need him to simplify his message.
Report brendanuk1 • September 25, 2015 9:02 AM BST
Varoufakis knocked out the guy who thought a country works in same way as personal finance with a clean shot. That was a muddled argument that was floating around for a while, for that alone he was worth the appearance, He is mixed bag, but clearly his own man and thinks for himself.
Report Dr Crippen • September 25, 2015 10:27 AM BST
Yanis Varoufakis is a writer a politician and a Marxist.

He certainly shot that bloke in the audience down, who was simply saying that if you are spending more than you have coming in then you have to spend less.

Pity the bloke in the audience wasn't able to come back when all he had to say was - ''so what got Greece in the mire, and how do you propose getting them out of it by not cutting the spending?''

Varoufakis voted against the terms of the third bailout package for Greece, and heaven only knows the trouble they would be in now if he'd had his way.

It's politicians like him that got Europe in the trouble they're in today.
People like him would bring the whole house of cards down if they were given enough rope.
He's a smooth talking Marxist and boy doesn't he suck the gulible in a treat.
Report akabula • September 26, 2015 2:44 AM BST
Spot on Dr C.
Varoufakis more or less rubbished the opening statement from the UKIP spokesperson.
He hinted at an open door but on getting challenged stated we need to debate the issue better. WTMs.
I found him arrogant and typical of all lefties in that he spouts what he thinks the masses want to hear.
BTW how can anyone doubt the bias in the audience given their reaction to his comments.
