A bit too late tonight for the Man U match, I know, but I've only just found out myself.

'BT Showcase' on terrestrial tv will be showing some Champions League qualifiers on this channel throughout the season.

Channel 59 for Freeview watchers.

The summary of tonight's game is on at the moment on BT Showcase.

"BT Sport is the only place to watch all 351 exclusively live UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches.

The broadcaster will show 12 UEFA Champions League matches and 14 UEFA Europa League ties exclusively live on BT Sport Showcase, where customers can enjoy the action for free."

26 games for free when they paid over 700 million is quite generous, and strange.

I find the BT Sport cameras are a tad too far from the action compared to Sky.
Report tobermory • August 26, 2015 10:41 PM BST
It's not something they've just decided to do out of generosity, it is a requirement written into the contract as per broadcasting regulations mandating a certain number of free to air games. But for that there would be zero.

They can pick the games of course so Man City V Malmo will likely be the highlight.
Report kenny mann • August 26, 2015 10:46 PM BST
Yes, it was announced in April that one match a week would be screened free.
Report scandanavian_haven • August 26, 2015 10:47 PM BST
Didn't know that tober but there would probably have been the odd game shown to attract new subscribers, they did just that at the beginning of the season by showing a PL game free to air.

I would imagine they will show a high profile game at each stage to show people what they are missing.
Report scandanavian_haven • August 26, 2015 10:47 PM BST
Last season that free to air game was.

Oi Tommy, ye do realise Murdoch owns 90% of BT don't ye?
Report Nilsson Schmilsson • August 26, 2015 10:58 PM BST
nothing to do with broadcasting regs, it's part of bt's deal with uefa
Report tobermory • August 26, 2015 11:01 PM BST
Right, yeah UEFA insist on some free to air yes.

I haven't got freeview. Cry

And I'm not paying for any more sports channels.
Report Ibrahima Sonko • August 27, 2015 8:44 PM BST
I would had thought the camera view was standard for the whole world, not like they are going to a camera crew from every company broadcasting the game.

kenbo, you can get a freeview stick for your pc for lest than £20
Report s.kenbo • August 27, 2015 9:13 PM BST
I didn't know that IS.

I can watch the games on my telly through my brother in laws BT Sports account, but it's not the same as having the proper channel.
Report Ibrahima Sonko • August 27, 2015 9:20 PM BST
I have sky/freeview in the sitting room, freeview in the bedroom, but bought a usb thing that you plug into your pc for less than £20. Always good to watch a game in a small window on your pc if you are betting on it imo. You need to plug an aerial lead into to though.

Tonight's game between Barca and Roma is on BT now.

Freeview channel 55.

I don't know why I put Freeview 55 when it's Freeview 59
Report screaming from beneaththewaves • September 16, 2015 9:04 PM BST
Don't worry. It was right in your opening post. Ta for the reminder.

You're welcome, Screaming.

The Roma goal is well worth watching at the end of the show again if you missed it earlier.

Some of these CL Group matches can be very sterile but this is a great game.
