Like so many of the unfunny Dave Allen sketches - the punch line was obvious.

I must be thick as I never saw the punch line coming

It fails for so many reasons, he could had ripped the note and also none the people in cafe were not looking out of the window.

not only is it not the funniest sketch ever from tv, it's not even the funniest sketch ever from "tv's dave allen"... way too long and obvious as soon as the cafe appeared

as an aside, the cafe would have been better named munch & judy imo  (assuming the proprietress was called judy, of course)

I always liked Dave Allen, f me the winter nights must just fly by in Facts house/bedsit/caravan.........

dave allen was a genius, better as a raconteur than a sketch artist though
