ok,as you all know I come out with some hair brained idea's from time to time so here is my new idea.
Betfair seem to give new customers loads of promotion offers from time to time.
So I was thinking that they should target their loyal customers with a few offers to get them to keep coming back.
How about an item like a loyality card.(they could even sell it to their regular customers for a once off 10 quid payment)
this card could entitle the holder to extra benefits and special offers for card holders.
it might even show that Betfair really do value their existing customers.
and a new slogan like" the company that really cares about their customers.'
What do you guys think.?

well it's interesting especially the bit about charging £10 for a loyalty card

if they were to give a special price to the guy who has a card he is more likely to click on to betfair than any other site ,and once he logs in you have him .sort of "come into my web said the spider to the fly sort of thing.Grin

What use is Betfair Points to the average or low stakes punter?

Instead of lowering commission why not give free bets or goodies for points generated?

They could also send the  plastic card by post, and the owner would be advertising Betfair with his plastic card  when he is in the pub.
"I am a member of the Betfair gold card club and I can get 6/4 on man.utd today and they are only 1/1 with all the other firms .CoolCoolCool

The points we get could be used for going on real holidays,as the travel agent would love more business and would get loads of adverting ,and we could accumulate the points on the card.
And the travel agents could pay the discount on the holidays.
the wives would be happy also.
the more bets you do the more points you get on your card.
And the wives would be saying"get on betfair and do loads of bets I want to go to florida in the summer.LaughLaughLaughLaugh

Lets say if I guy does 100 grand in bets on betfair throughout the year he gets a free 2000 grand holiday ,now imagine if you had a few hundred ordinary punter trying to get their free holiday. there would be a lot of bets flying about even if there where only Scottish second division games on.GrinGrinGrin
Report themightymac • January 22, 2015 10:57 PM GMT
Is it not more sensible just to pay the 2k for the holiday and keep the other 98k Shocked
Report brassneck • January 22, 2015 11:08 PM GMT
but with all the sharp minds they would be trying to get holiday expences, and at the end of the day even the guy that loses his cobblers would be able to take his chick to London for a week end at betfairs expence.
Of course betfair would get their millions on turnover, the travel agents get more business and Joe the punter gets rewarded for his betfair gambling with a cheque in his front door that can only be used for a holiday.Laugh

Charging for a video service that isn't fit for purpose was a great business idea..
Report brassneck • January 22, 2015 11:12 PM GMT

That's what baldy does. Far better system.

yes,the low stakes punter needs some incentive ,
betfair need to tap into the regular small punter and give them something to make them walk past the high street bookie shop and come home and put their 20 quid on this site.
Everyone loves to get something for free.(even if they pay for it in a round about way)
Think of all the big supermarkets ,women go mad spending in them all year long to accumulate points to get free vouchures to spend in the same supermarket.
