Clint Eastwood is 84!!

He looks absolutely brilliant and the bloke is an an absolute legend and I use that word very sparingly in life.

My grandma is 90 on April fools day.

She has a busier social life than me! Only last week she invited 24 of her friends round for an afternoon tea and pi55 up!

She still drives, walks when needed, plays bridge twice a week.

Remarkable really.

and his new film, "American Sniper" is well worth a look

The guy who wrote the book died a couple of years ago. Think he was only in his 30s..

He is, and will always be my fav movie star.

Seconded. Can still watch his stuff now and is the coolest on the planet. Has been for near on 60 years.

I'm tryin to eat lunch here

Great movie star. May seem sacriligious to suggest it but I feel his output in the last decade or so behind the camera is giving his body of work in front of it a good run for it's money.

My punctuation is getting worserer.

You people have got to be joking, he's like a warmed up corpse here.

84 years of age and he looks it.

I went on to the Grauniad last week to confirm their coverage of the France thing was as Grauniad-ish as you'd expect, and noticed in the side bar a link to an article attacking American Sniper that looked like typical Grauniad anti-american drivel.

It not liking it is enough for me to indicate it's probably a very good film

I know he used to have a rigorous fitness regime ....probably still does.

My Dad's 84 but retired when he was 60....got a good pension.

^ I don't get it?

It's the Simpsons version of Harry Callahan......'McGarnagle'.

The yellow skin always put me off The Simpsons.

I agree with Crippen.

Eastwood looked in better shape after he'd been dragged across the desert by Eli Wallach than he does right now.

Being 84 may do that to you.

Still directing films at 84.  Remember him as Rowdy Yates in the old black and white TV series Rawhide. Before that he was just another Hollywood contract player getting small roles in Hollywood B-movies. (for the younger ones on here, there always use to be 2 films when you went to the cinema, the main film and the B-picture).

Good ol' Clint. Love him.

And Elvis would've been 80 last Thursday.

I know he ate a lot of cheese burgers but I don't think he'd have got to 80. I think he'd have gone on a diet before then.

I second this, Favorite actor also, then it would be Jack Nicholson ...Both absolute Legends !

Not my fav actor, he'd be the first to say he was never gonna win any oscars ( man's gotta know his limitations ) but far an away my fav movie star. Charisma and screen presence in spades - a real holywood icon, the likes of which haven't been seen since John Wayne.

I liked Wayne but he wasn't a patch on Mitchum as an actor or an icon in my view.

Clint is an utter legend.

Brilliant in his younger days in westerns and cop movies, also really like A Perfect World with Costner, and in recent years Gran Torino a superb example of his work - if you haven't seen it you should. Must have been late 70s making that and he/it is brilliant.

Gran Torino was a fantastic film which I watched 3 times when it was on TC recently as I think you need to with some movies. Shawshank is a good example to appreciate its brilliance.

Clint has been superb throughout his career and seems a very nice chap.

I know I'm greedy but I would have liked one more western out of him but I suppose it's better to go out on a high like Unforgiven, I suppose that is to him like "The Shootist" is for John Wayne.

Star quality is what is needed, good actors are ten a penny.

He was the last great movie star.

Gran Torino is on again on Channel 5. Superb movie. Record it on 5 plus 1 hour.

cheers aint seen it in a while great film

You're wecome stonecold.
