Anyone on here done these? Thinking of doing one but don't want to get shafted in a filthy caravan and end up paying so much for extras like power and bedding that I could have paid for a proper holiday instead.
Happy doing caravan holidays - do a private rental one each year - so not averse to caravan parks as long as I don't end up paying nearer £100 for a cockroach infested shed.
Took the kids on stacks of these when the kids were younger ,staying in the same caravans that will cost a grand a week in August .
Seashore which backs on to Great Yarmouth racecourse & has the sand dunes and beach on the other side was always a fav.

My mate and mrs took there 5 kids and there parents on one last year, they went to Skegness, he's a tight bar steward . How they all got in a 6 birth caravan is a mystery, but he said you have to buy a calor gas bottle £62, hire the cutlery £18, you had to hire a key for the cupboards in the caravan , or you couldn't get any cups, plates , etcetc, that was £32,, bedding and sheets were £12 a day, and the water and electric were on meters,, plus you had to park in allocated spaces, which worked out to £1. An hour, so over the course of the week, it cost £168...so check out for any of these hidden extras, He said it would have been cheaper to take them all on a cruise...they may not all be like this though !
