Wiggins looks too short. OK, cyclists have won twice in the last four years but Hoy in 2008 was as much about the Olympics, and Cavendish won in a weak year. I've laid him (not to huge amounts, admittedly).

In the excitement of it all, I neglected to relate some amusing scenes in Miami where Lennox Lewis didn't seem to realise that he was supposed to hand over the third place trophy to Andy Murray. The award just stood there on a table in front of the two of them looking rather lonely during a pregnant pause before a laughing Murray grabbed it himself, muttering something about "technical issues."

I asked Betfair to put Katherine Grainger in the market in January based on the furore over lack of female representation last year and the firytale of her win in London after three previous silvers.

Backed her in Spring and early summer and tried to lay off when she won gold but the price never contracted enough

I think I was the only person who backed her on here and stood to win pretty large sum and was hoping someone would want to back her when the shortlist was announced - but her price never wavered from 1000/1.
