You might think this a bit harsh but i would like the underclass to be vetted before bring allowed to have children...only those who have the potential to contribute to society should be allowed to breed.

You consistently fail to add any substance to the the bigger problem. You are quick to point the finger but offer no solution.
That quantifies an idiot Sun readers mentality. AKA an idiot.

As you keep repeating your own mantra i would not expect anything of more substance from you.
You obviously want all child murders to stay away from children. Yet how can you tell who are the child killers before they actually kill? Should all ex cons carry a warning sign to prevent them being left alone with children?
Perhaps a policy were all children must be in the company of at least one blood relative or else a baby sitter who must be vetted?

I know my own mind and know my own responsibilities to my own children. I try as best I can to provide appropriate parenting, care and loving. The thought of any of this lot associating with me or my family makes me shudder !!!

Do you actually think that the family had any ideas that he was a child killer. She was not left in a strangers house. She had a bedroom at her grandmothers were she often stayed.
How many ex cons have murdered their partners granddaughter that you know of?

I have 2 young sons and like Moistsok you are ignoring my question.
Were do you draw the line with ex cons being stepfather/stepgrandfather figures for children? Are you saying that ex cons are a risk to children? even when for 5 years they have not put a foot wrong in the eyes of the family.
Pixie i would not allow my sons to sleep under the same roof as you. What does that say about me? what does that say about you?
Jesus wept. What is your problem AG? Is it that you are so ashamed of your partner's scumbag of a family that you have to defend them and their type because you feel for some ridiculous way it may reflect badly on you? You are coming across as extremely foolish either because of this or are just picking an argument just for the sake of it. However, if you really do want your points (?) answered then here we go....
Were do you draw the line with ex cons being stepfather/stepgrandfather figures for children? Are you saying that ex cons are a risk to children? even when for 5 years they have not put a foot wrong in the eyes of the family.
There is obviously no line that any legislation or government can draw or even reasonably enforce on access issues with dangerous ex cons in their role as stepfather/stepgrandfather. THIS RESPONSIBILITY CAN ONLY COME FROM THE MOTHER/FATHER/GUARDIAN OF THE CHILD AT RISK AND THE CHILD'S SAFETY SHOULD ALWAYS BE PUT FIRST BY THEM. YOUR PARTNER'S FAMILY, THE MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER OF THE POOR MURDERED CHILD, FAILED IN THEIR DUTY OF CARE. GOT IT? IS THAT REALLY THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

This moronic sentence says quite a lot about you actually. I would sincerely hope that you wouldn't let your sons sleep under the roof of a male that you have never met but only argued with on an anonymous internet forum. The fact that you feel you have to tell me this concerns me.

So when a child is left with a step grandfather. The family are failing in their duty of care?

I'll spell it out for you one last time. It's about personal responsibility.... Only in this case the child was too young to be responsible for herself so her scumbag mother/grandmother should have been looking after her but failed miserably in their duty of care. They felt, or more likely didn't care, that it was ok to leave a vulnerable child in the sole care of an ex con with a history of violence, drug taking and drug dealing.
IT DOES NOT MATTER ONE JOT THAT HE HAPPENED TO BE THE VICTIM'S STEPFATHER/STEPGRANDFATHER. JUST THAT ANY HALF DECENT PARENT/GUARDIAN WOULD KNOW THAT IT WOULD NOT BE SAFE FOR A CHILD IN THEIR CARE TO BE LEFT ALONE WITH A PERSON WITH A CRIMINAL AND PERSONAL HISTORY LIKE HIS.
Would you leave your teenage daughters (if you had them) in the care of their step grandfather if the step grandfather happened to be Jimmy Savile?
No. Did you not read my post?I'll spell it out for you one last time. It's about personal responsibility.... Only in this case the child was too young to be responsible for herself so her scumbag mother/grandmother should have been looking after her
In this case absolutely yes. A criminal record, previously shacked up with the mother, in and out of work, you don't need a law to tell you to avoid these scumbags.

AG,whats the latest on the case, know the step g/father on remand but when does the case come to trial,is he gonna admit murder or is he still relying on evidence being flawed?

Was it known to people that Jimmy Saville was a sex case? I am sure family members of Saville`s would have trusted their children in his care if they didn`t know he was a case.
Tia had known him for 5 years. Was there any signs that he would snap and kill her? Thousands of blokes have a history of drink and violence to other men. These men are scattered all over society. They cut the grass, wash the dishes, make the bed, take the kids to the park, help with homework etc....then boom they snap and murder?? is this what you are saying.
Or is this case just a one off? because if it`s not then we have 1000`s of kids in danger.

As you well know, this child and this horrific, dysfunctional family were well known to Social Services. There was every chance that an incident like this could have happened and the poor child's carers put her in a position where the worst and quite possibly inevitable, thing happened.
The poor child was not afforded the protection that every child should have as a right. My children (and thankfully 99.9% of the country's) will never be placed in such danger.

These scumbags are two a penny on these estates Blacky. In and out of prison. Yet the kids are generally safe and actually protected. Of course scummy role models but they don`t often snap into child murderers after 5 years.

You're being pathetic and deliberately obtuse. You win, I can't be bothered to waste my time arguing. Your partner has a lovely loving family in New Addington, you must be very proud of them, just a pity one of them died tho.

wouldn't allow any association with the family either
some people have no idea of caring for their children
and apologists try to make excuses for people who have no idea how to behave properly in society

most of those who make excuses for these sort of people do this - it is their one clearly defined tactic.

We know plenty about the bloke that killed her, so did his girlfriends.
Really don't know what your point is here gabrial, you lie down with dogs you get fleas, getting involved with scumbags is irresponsible at best.

My point is that there are disfunctional families with scumbgs acting as the male guardian throughout our society.
If you think about it, there must be thousands of kids at risk from men with criminal pasts. I am therefore surprised more kids are not murdered if these men are liable to be child murderers.
In actual fact children are more in danger from depressed biological parents.

If the police suspected him from the start and they knew he didn`t drive then perhaps they should have been more thorough in searching the loft instead of implementing Christine into it.
Evidence is still needed to convict him of murder. It`s a mess.

The jurors will have to decide though Tobe, can they be sure it wasn`t an accident. The autopsy was inconclusive regarding cause.
There will be other questions raised as well.

the jury can decide what they want - if he tries to claim an accident (like Huntley and Tabak) and the jury don't believe him it's murder.
1.01 verdict will be guilty of murder

I imagine i would panic if a tragic accident happened when i was the only adult but fk me dont think i would wrap up the body and hide it in the loft. He is clearly guilty. Wasnt his napeighbour also under suspicion? Surely guilty, sadly sexually motivated too. I also cant be having any excuses from the cops, they should have found the body earlier. It was sad, embarassing and ultimately tragic at a time when the country was on a high duringthe olympics.

Yesterdays news was truly terrible - even the six o'clock news contained so much child molestation , murder and kidnapping i really didnt want my kids to see. You would like to think when this scumbag gets to prison he will be torn to pieces and live his life in fear - but i strongly suspect the entire secure wing is filling up with these evil perverts now.

He wont get a reduced sentence surely. Prob get life with at least forty years before being eligible for parole like huntley. Maybe he was telling the truth and thinks the family have been through enough.

Where the offender is 21 or over at the time of the offence and the court takes the view that the murder is so grave that the offender should spend the rest of his life in prison, a 'whole life order' is the appropriate starting point. The early release provisions in section 28 of the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997 will then not apply. Such an order should only be specified where the court considers that the seriousness of the offence is exceptionally high. Such cases include:
a) the murder of two or more persons where each murder involves a substantial degree of premeditation, the abduction of the victim, or sexual or sadistic conduct; b) the murder of a child if involving the abduction of the child or sexual or sadistic motivation; c) a murder done for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause; or d) a murder by an offender previously convicted of murder.

Incidentally I don't think chit-chat favourites Huntley and Vincent Tabak are not subject to this tariff. And many will remember the embarrassing occasion when the CDDA imposed its own "whole life tariff" on the Bristol landlord before he was even arrested. The wrong-un test is not infallible though it was spot on with Hazell.

The wrong un test regards the bristol landlord seemed to revolve around a crazy haircut and gutter press reports that he liked poetry. Glad he got a load of compo. Was a very eloquent speaker at Leveson too. If there was any justice the pinkshment to those papers would have been to have the papers banned from publishing for a week instead of a fine that is peanuts to them.

I`m not sure it`s about what you think Rob, have a look into the case and find out, there was no mention of rape.
Huntley saw the girls and asked them to come into his house. He said that his girlfriend, Maxine Carr, their teaching assistant at St Andrew's Primary School, was in the house too. She had in fact gone to visit family in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Shortly after the girls entered his house, Huntley murdered them.
Huntley's motive for killing Wells and Chapman may never be known, but minutes before seeing them he had reportedly slammed the telephone down on Carr following a furious argument; Huntley had allegedly suspected Carr of cheating on him. The police suspected that Huntley killed the girls in a fit of jealous rage. Huntley's mother also said this.[1] The police found no evidence of premeditation.[2]

I am not talking about law ffs,I am talking about justice. Huntley should never be released. Neither should Hazell. Admittedly I dont know much about the Bristol case other than that the gutter press should have been shat on from a far higher height than they were for their treatment of someone that happened to like poetry and had an unruly hairstyle.

Life without possibility of parole far more common in america than here. In many states first degree murder is automatic rest of natural life.
Just cant see how guy like hazel could ever be trusted again even in 35 years time in his 70s.

The court heard shocking evidence in which it was alleged Hazell took pictures of Tia’s naked body after he murdered her. Police also found internet searches including the terms ‘naked little girlies’, ‘illegal under-age incest pics’ and ‘schoolgirl abuse’ on his computer. There were Google searches for ‘violent forced rape’, ‘little girls in glasses’, ‘daddy daughter pictures’ and ‘under age incest galleries’. He sought out images of young girls who looked like Tia, with glasses and ponytails. Detective Chief Inspector Nick Scola said Hazell’s web activity was significant: ‘Clearly they were paedophile searches. That must have shaped his behaviour in some way.’ Detectives believe that in the months before the murder Hazell deliberately removed the bathroom door at the house he shared with Tia’s grandmother so he could watch the schoolgirl. He is also thought to have modified the light socket in her room to create a spyhole.
Judge still says can't be certain their was sexual motive or otherwise would have been 'whole life ' tariff

Surely Hazell searched the internt for kiddy porn because he was a paedo - it's not the act of searching that made him one.
