The golden tulip is quite nice for around that spend, only a short walk from central station and dam square etc

For something different, and romantic, rent a canal houseboat.

I think you will find it next to the 'pillow biters arms' (Rops fav bar)

£130/night for the pair of you, or per person?
Report History Maker June 29, 2012 9:02 PM BST
By the way, 'city centre' is practically an irrelevance.

Unless one of you has walking problems, you can just about do the entire place on foot. The odd tram ride might be necessary.

Watch out for the bikes and trams as a pedestrian. They're like ninjas - silent but deadly.

MAKE SURE YOUR ROOM IS NEAR TO A COFFEE SHOP SO INCASE YOU HAVE A SMOKE ITS NOT FAR TO GO Crazy

Brits are no longer served in Coffee Shops, by law. Best bring your own!

I always stay in the Luxor on the Warmoestraat.  It's the road that runs alongside the Grasshopper.  Tidy, clean and relatively inexpensive.  £35 each per night I think.
