Remember visiting with a mate of mine back when I was 19, and sitting there with my feet dangling over the edge, having a laugh.
31 years on and I can barely climb to the top of a stepladder without panicking, giddiness and bowels loosening.

Thought it would be a little higher than 2%? as they usually fall on one of the ledges, evidently you have to go to a pretty specific spot to get the "full drop" or you end up dying a painful slow death with a broken neck/multiple spinal injuries etc on one of those pesky ledges.

that's the scariest scenario in the/my world : to sit with your legs dangling over a lethal drop. I can feel it . And what I feel in the pit of my stomach is the sensation of being unable to stop from just pushing off from that seat.

In June of 1995, 15 year old Martin Hinchcliffe had a fight with his girlfriend’s parents. After writing a note to his mother saying he would kill himself he walked to Sugar Lump cliff on Beachy Head and jumped. 35 feet into his fall he was caught by some extending rocks and was completely hidden from view in a deep crevasse. After spending 72 hours holding on to the cliffs, his cries were finally heard by a man walking on the beach below. Coastguard, police and firefighters went to the scene and were able to rescue Hinchcliffe who suffered a broken leg and cracked several ribs. Hinchcliffe said he sucked on rocks during the 72 hours to avoid dehydration.

As someone who holds options in Jumping Rights for Beachy Head , particularly prophetable in times of financial crises, and when 1.01s get beat, I can catamegorically state that anyone who jumps of Beachy Head , reaches the bottom and survives, wishes they hadn't.
Most who survive do not reach the bottom from the top.
I hope this clarifies the matter.
