The quiz will consist of fifty four questions on the following subjects:
General Knowledge (maximum eight questions) History (maximum eight questions) Science and Nature (maximum eight questions) Geography (maximum eight questions) Sport and Leisure (maximum eight questions) Film and Television (maximum eight questions) Words and Numbers (maximum eight questions) Art and Literature (maximum eight questions)
Each question corresponds to one of the fifty two playing cards (plus the jokers) in a normal deck.
Although ostensibly a fastest finger first affair, this quiz is entirely picture based and answers may not be readily apparent. I hope this will give all players a fair and even chance of success. The winner of the first question (on general knowledge) will receive the 5 ♥ and win the right to choose the card and subject for the following question.
No penalty is levied for an incorrect answer, but if nobody is correct the card is automatically awarded to the late Stu Ungar.
JOKERS
Jokers are the most powerful cards in the Chit Chat Caesars Palace Quiz. They are wild. Recipients of jokers may use them in the end game as any other card in the deck to improve their hand.
Joker questions will be General Knowledge.
No player can hold both Jokers in their hand. If the winner of the first joker is first in with the correct answer to the second Joker the card is awarded to Stu Ungar.
TEA BREAKS c[_]
There will be tea breaks after each tenth card has been dealt.
THE END GAME
Once all fifty four questions have been asked the player with the best five card poker hand is declared the winner.
If a player does not have five cards in their hand, blanks are issued to make up the number. A player holding only Q ♥3 ♣ and K ♦ for example, is issued with two blanks and declares Ace High as his final hand.
The game will end early should any player hold a hand of Four of a Kind Jacks or better.

GENERAL RULES OF THE GAME
Surnames are acceptable unless a full name has been requested in the question.
Abbreviations are entered at the quizzer's own risk; some are acceptable and some are not. Villa instead of Aston Villa, for example, would be permissable. KD instead of Kentucky Derby would not. As a general rule of thumb: if you're unsure if the abbreviation will be acceptable, it probably isn't.
Thank you so much for turning up to play. You will have missed the earlier conversations, gentlemen, but we only have one more question this evening. I had a molar out this afternoon and I'm feeling a little the worse for wear. We are going to reconvene same time next week for the second half.
Apologies Gents.

I have awarded you an 'extra' Joker so it won't affect the game. Unless you go on to win, of course, and then we might have a mutiny on our hands!

Brilliant quiz pokermon, sorry I couldn't make it (Looks like it was a success in spite of the forum). Would have to have used an internet cafe to do so, and I guessed it was going to be a late one and I was busy doing my accounts and decided I'd give it a miss. It was very slow just going through the quiz now in my own time - at least 45 minutes!!! looks like you had a sizable field all the same and all the questions were brilliant. Only ones I got were :
missing letter N (don't suppose i'd've been in first though), 21 for the dartboard question (don't suppose i'd've been in first though) outline of Australia (got that straight away so id'v had a chance, only one other got it I think) UND(ergro)UND (quite quickly, but doubt i'd've been in first)
So a fair chance i'd've got none or 1 cards!!
And I can only reiterate what Jimmy was saying - it'd be great to see some of the quizzers who took part in this quiz on nibbs' site for quizzes in future eg. tonight.

Great effort, PM, excellent quiz. Just a shame the forum is so bad, especially for quizzes. Got sick of refreshing and it freezing so I gave up.
Quiz Room is far better. You can post pics on there but not sure about the card symbols. Worth looking into, I'd suggest.

PM - I managed a paltry 13 (only three of the first 14) and I thought these were harder than the ones tonight. That's not to say I'd have got 13 though, as I'd have been gazumped on a few I'm sure. Slightly less than half but that's not so bad as they were tough. Thanks buddy, I'll keep an eye on these threads from now on.
