I've never been there, and by the time this lot finish**ging the place, you won't want to.

If your looking for sun and beach its fine. If you like to explore a little further be prepared for hassle and if you have blonde haired kids your in trouble as they will not leave them alone.

Port El Kantaoui - newer developent with some decent restaurants and nice marina

Monistir - lovely beaches but very limited things to do - decent casino in Souse, spent most evenings there. Also good market but again be prepared to haggle and say NO alot

Hammenet - least fav and furthest from airport

Most hotels are of a very decent standard, however the food can vary from poor to moderate. Beer as weak as pish.

I go for a week on the beach doing feck all as you are almost certain guarenteed sun.

I'm going to port el kantaoui in april, all inclusive. Worked out about £450 a head for a week, hotel looks nice, #1 rated on tripadvisor so I've high hopes for the place. Someone I know went to the same town different hotel a couple of years ago for a golf holiday and thought it was very nice.

Is that the bellvue park? who did you book it through?

Make sure bottles of water, soft drinks, beer etc. are opened in front of you. Don't have ice in your drinks unless you want to spend your hols in the bathroom.Spirits seem to have a higher water content than normal too.

Yes Hagler that's the one. Booked it with Thomson... directly through their website though... following the Thomson link through the tripadvisor website worked out about £150pp more expensive even tho it seemed to be the exact same page!

Lot of regulars missing, not wanting to put a downer on it, but it does get slated, and I know a few "real" people that have been.

No, no, no and no again. Do not go to that filthy hole of a country. If you lose your deposit it will be a blessing!!

I'm going to Sousse in May. I know 3 people that have been to Sousse and Port el Kantoui in last couple of months and all have said it was nice but you've just got to watch out for the water etc.

In port el kantaoui ..because it is the favoured resort of the Tunisian Royal Family...it used to be the case that if The Royals decided to take a holiday there (even on the spur of the moment) all the Hotel guests were shipped off to other resorts , even midway through their holiday ...or diverted if due to arrive during the Monarchs stay ...Stays which used to be in 6 week periods..Not sure if that is still the case , as this was over 20 years ago ...

it's a rat infested sh!thole. saw about 200 or more rats swimming in the reservoir by monistir. and also when we were on the beach got pestered by people wanting to buy your clothes off you. it's the only holiday(if i can call it that) that i never got tipsy on.

It is without doubt the most vile country I have ever been to, the people are truly hideous. I went with a blue eyed blonde and got death threats every time we left the hotel, we stayed at the Hannibal Palace in Port El Kantoui and although the hotel was just about acceptable I suppose what joy is there in being in a country where you can't walk out of the hotel door in safety to have a look around? On the way there the coach was stopping off at various places and couples and families were looking around in bewilderment just praying that the tour rep did not call their names out to disembark at certain hotels. My advice to you and to anyone else is throw your "Come visit Tunisia" brochure in the bin and that is the best advice I could give anyone about the khazi. Do not go.
(p.s. Thomas, I am going to Sandown tomorrow are you standing there?)

I told everyone about that hideous country all those years ago, it truly is a vile place. The people are complete and utter filth.
