I know that Manchester like most cities has it's ghettoes and the like but i was wondering if any mancs actually concur to any particular area as the "ultimate sh1tehole"?
I visit there every couple of months or so and most i meet are neanderthal knuckledraggers (the white slave trade) so i usually only ply around the more pleasant areas like Sale and Nantwich.
Personally the likes of Moss Side seem utter filth tips and Hulme (is that a town? is unpleasant.I also had a incdient with a dead wh0re in stretford a while ago so those 3 are worthy of a mention.
The KFC with the bank type glass security screens I remember best, with a mcdonalds next to it, looked fairly bad, someone name it for me, loads of foreign types on the run into manchester.

Well, Salford is rough but I was actually referring to the morally bankrupt and corrupt residents who make the trip to the borough of Trafford, along with legions of**neys, obviously, every other week

A friend of mine lived in Hulme for a while. He had nothing of value in his flat. He went out one night. Upon returning he found his flat had been broken into. They had nicked all his food!
I remember my aunt telling my brother & me as kids about a guy getting stabbed in a pub in Miles Platting. It was the early 70s and before people used to carry knives. I can recall the shock!
Cheetham Hill, Salford too. Don't really know South M/c well, but I know there are some hard lads from the North m/c and Bolton areas.
Hope this helps!

Moss Side was considered to be an excellent area to live in the early part of the 20th century. Like anywhere, things change and wealth leaves some areas and arrives at others.

Can't say I've spent a load of time in Moss Side apart from matchdays and the odd passing visit, but even years ago it was never the no go area that the media made out imo from what I could see. And now it is a lot better than some others areas

I live out in the hills now. Country folks view of Mancs is that we are trouble! That said, nobody has given me any sh!t at all.
It's a quiet area and the three incidents in the pubs that I've witnessed have all involved me! Not that I've started anything!

I lived in London, and if I wanted to see neanderthals, I could go for a drink with West Ham fans or visit the Natural History Museum, as they were a lot closer than Manchester.
