I have a Coutts account, they are very helpful.....I also have a Lloys TSB private banking account with the black card and associated b ollockks.....waste of time and only as good as the person in branch that deals with it...if they are on day off u get the usual lunatics

is your private bank is as safe as Baring's bank?
Report billy hill • January 10, 2010 4:44 PM GMT
aren't coutts part of barclays now?

anyway, if you are with a "proper" private bank, and your credit card gets nicked with an attempted dodgy withdrawal, they will probably notice before you do.

Countts? Thought that was generic term. :)

sorry Coutts are part of Royal Bank of Scotland.
the service side of things is one consideration, but also you need to think about whether they are independent/ part of another bank group etc

Adam and co and Coutts are both part of RBS

RBS just sold the investment management aspect to Aberdeen Inv Managers

wonder if the Coutts investors know who is managing their money now

I used to work for Coutts...you dont get an account there these days unless you have at least 500k liquid or 1 million GBP non liquid assets I think. T
