Just got a fancy new tv...and looking at the Virgin TV promo offer it looks pretty decent,no installation fee, free HD box etc

Anyone know the pros and cons ???

Had both V+ and Sky+/HD.

Sky is better for:

Red button channels on Sky Sports 1/2/3 only work on Sky not on Virgin
More HD channels

Virgin better:

Fewer HD channels but no extra cost
Slightly cheaper overall
Better channels on demand service
iPlayer access

Reliability is mixed: Sky's main downer is bad weather affecting the signal. Virgin cable doesn't have this but they have more service down times. I had two occasions in 12 months where there was 4+ hours of no service.

Given the choice, I left Virgin and went back to Sky.

I've been with cable now Virgin for 20 yrs and service has been down less than 10 times, maybe I've been lucky but I wouldn't change.
