god I would have loved to have lived in the 60s in 500 years time people will pick up history books and say how the hell was there so much talent around at the same time.

Howdi - your spot on - 60s & 70s gave us the most innovative music production ever, there's good stuff either side of those 2 decades but generally speaking they were by far the best - Beatles - Presley - Pink Floyd - Motown - Stones, you could go on and on and on, superb hits every week on the radio, your lucky if you hear one decent song per month now.

cheers Burt. Ive never seen pictures of him at his last gig very sad. I suppose these days he would have been in hospital not in front of thousands - looked awful.

Elvis - Beatles Maradona - Pele - Best

you'll find his final concert available on a torrent Howdi. CBS turned it into a tv special, i think it was about 2 weeks before he died and was in Philadelphia.

I remember buying the '68 Concert on DVD for my mum ... and heard, for the first time, him singing "If I Can Dream" ... the type of song that would have been familiar to him as a child growing up in a poor environment, heavily imbued with Gospel ... it still brings a lump to my throat. (I was only 13 when he died, and while not an ardent fan, I do still love to hear his voice) ... :o)

^ exactly. And what are the chances of 3 people like John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison ever coming together again. No dis-respect to Ringo, but he was one lucky sod in the right place at the right time. And what are the chances of a single performer like Elvis ever coming along again.

I was working in betting office in Long Row,just off St Martins Lane in the West End..
It was one Saturday morning before the dogs.I went outside to have a fag and watch the girlies go by,when low and behold Paul McCartney comes strolling along.Stopped him and had a chat for a few minutes.
