I went to my mother-in-law's funeral this afternoon. On the way to the crematorium, and travelling in the limousine behind the hearse a car siganalled to be let in between us....really forcefully!...and was let in. Within the next two minutes the hearse slowed to allow the car to overtake....Also a car on our right was bibbing like mad at the infringer to show some respect. It took a long time for the penny to drop.....Is this a sign of the times?
though i once did this by mistake. I overtook a car not realising it was part of a funeral procession and found myself right in the middle of it all.
I could feel the eyes of the driver in front staring into my soul.

When my dad died we walked from the funaral parlour to the chuch all of us walking behind the hearse, only about 400 yards, a car honk his horn behind,i looked bach and 2 of my cousins had the driver by the neck. Your right about respect.

Was walking past the Cathedral in Galway on my way to college, a very busy area at any time of the day. A hearse was going by and every car stopped and everybody (students included) on either side of the footpath stopped out of respect. It was incredible really. Still some respect around.
