Just found a direct debit for £69 out of my HSBC account for some firm called CCP Ltd. I have no knowledge of this company or DD!!! Waiting for a response from the bank but can they just set up Direct Debits without any recourse to their customers?

Weird...

Cheers rustyboy... it seems a tad cheeky that the bank can sign you up for card protection and arrange a DD to a 3rd party without the customer even getting so much as a notification. Cheeky bwggers!

hmmm

complain vehermently though i suspect it's your fault in all honesty. There must have been some tick box or something on the account application form that you ticked by accident or something. Complain though and you might get it back.

That's the sort of crap they phone you up to try to flog you.

They're always astounded that I don't want it - as if I'm the first person to say no.

The only cards I have are a debit card, issued 3 years ago and due for renewal this year and a credit card which I've had for 4 years and never used. I've not made any new applications for any other cards and have never talked to or had any letters from CPP. Interested to see what the bank says... I suppose they'll point to small print somewhere.
