get a nice antique roll top, plenty of compartments for papers, room for a computer and a closeable top. Cheap too. will last forever

Depending what you want to use it for (and how much the aesthetics matter) consider getting an ordinary dining type table. If you need drawers (and you probably don't) get them separately.

Tables are sturdier, more functional and cheaper than specialist office or computer desks, and their greater width means there is plenty of room.

Downside: you won't get invited onto Britain's Best Home.

i bought this one recently. its fine but a bit more heavy & chunky than i thought it was going to be. also a bit of a pain to put together. on the plus side it look ok and is a good size.

Reyes - i had the same problem last year. spent ages looking but most sites have the same makes and models.

Eventually found Furniture 123.com and got a good quality corner desk unit. Had to build it myself but was worth searching for it. Only negative thing is that they send me an email a week with furniture offers.

Asking for trouble putting a tower in that compartment.

No air flow. Will fry your components.

i've left the back off as recommended and leave the door open when pc is on
Report everythings gone green • January 2, 2010 9:48 AM GMT
Ah, OK. Mine is on all the time so that door looked out of place.
