Iraqi asylum seeker, kills 12 year old girl in this country in a hit and run while banned from driving, and is allowed to remain in the U.K because it would breach his human rights to be deported. Just not right, imo.
An Iraqi asylum seeker who knocked down a 12-year-old girl and left her to die while banned from driving has won the right to remain in the UK.
Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, 31, from Blackburn, Lancashire, faced deportation but successfully invoked human rights legislation granting him the right to a "family life" in the UK.
Victim Amy Houston's father Paul, who campaigned for Ibrahim's deportation, is outraged by the judge's decision, made earlier this week.
His local MP, Justice Secretary Jack Straw, has vowed to take up the case and the UK Border Agency is also considering an appeal.

its a completely farcical situation, how many uk citizens would be dealt with so leniently as this bloke if guilty of the same crime?
i thoyught they were all given 6k and sent on their way ?

He got four months. I don't know how long he actually served.

British bloke (albeit as asian going by his name) will be executed in China on the 29th for drug smuggling.
Why hasn't that nice Mr Straw interfered and brought him home like he did the British (nigerian with a british passport) bird under sentence of death in Laos ?
