Watched a BBC4 doc on John Mortimer last night

Sounds interesting, I'll look out for the repeat.

John Mortimer who is/was he ?

John Mortimer played for Villa in the early 80s

Didn't he and Wendy 'Butterflies' Craig have a love child? He was gruesome to look at.

I player ?

I wouldn't have minded watching that, but unquestionably the best programme on BBC4 on Monday was the one about Sir Clement Freud.

It captured his genius perfectly. And it ended with that joke :)

C F was brilliant I need to keep an eye on the BBC 4 listings :-(

The Freud programme is on the BBC iPlayer. I missed the first 15 minutes, so I'll be checking it out on tinternet. Short of playing for Everton or winning the Ashes for England, there are few things I'd like to do more than live Freud's life.

On a slight tangent, Charlie Brooker's review of the year was also very good. It's on BBC4 again in the next few days.

An amazing man ,had an absolute brilliant out look on life

his bits in the post ,often cheered me up ..

You must have heard this joke before. If not, then enjoy. And if you have, you will still laugh:
