In Britain today 2% are Afro Caribbean, and 2% are Asian. This would mean that the prison population should be 2% Asian, and 2 % Afro Caribbean, but it is not, the actual figures are 10% Afro Caribbean, and 9% Asian.

Black British nationals accounted for 11 per cent of the sentenced population in prison, 13 per cent of the remand population and 21 per cent of fine defaulters. There are thousands of eastern Europeans around here, and the vast majority work for the minimum wage, which imo, is poverty in English terms.
As far as I'm aware there has been only one murder within a 10 mile radius since we moved up here in March 2005.
There have been no gang fights with youths being stabbed.
There have been no rapes, whether it be by a single person, or a gang.
There have been no armed robberies.
There have been about half a dozen muggings. mostly for mobile phones.
In my old haunt in Newham, a murder gets about 15 lines of typing in the local rag.
In last weeks Fenland Citizen, which covers a much larger area than Newham, but probably not as many people, there were 45 lines devoted to the heinous crime of the week. Somebody had 3 garden ornaments stolen over a period of two nights.
I have seen the difference between living in an area packed with asians and blacks, as opposed to living in an area with a hell of a lot of eastern Europeans.

For them, your opinion that they live in poverty has no relevance, it's more money than they're used to, and can make them well off when they return home. The link between poverty, especially relative poverty, and crime is a well-known.
So what part of being poor causes a black youth for example, to stick a knife into somebody else, when the motive clearly isn't robbery in order to lessen his poverty.
I am the only white person living in our cul-de-sac yet when I recently had to spend 2 years in hospital, my neighbours watched my house and sent me regular updates to keep me from worrying.
Hoss, it's like that in Jamaica, it's normal. :)
The causes of crime are complex BC, nobody is suggesting that all victims of poverty become criminal, nor that all wealthy people are saints - that is demonstrably untrue. But household by household, those with less money will on average, be far more likely to commit crime.
Why? Well, robbery out of need/desire is part of it, but only really a small part. It's what is deemed as 'culture' imo that makes the difference between the two places.
When I was a young teenager there were small 'gangs' of youths in different streets in West Ham. The only time they met was when they were in one of the few parks at the same time. It invariably ended with the best of one gang fighting the best of the other gang. No more than 12 youths there in total. Nobody got stabbed or shot.
The only time gangs got involved in mob fighting was at Wanstead Flats at Easter or August when the Fair was over there. It used to be in our local park in Custom House for years, but it stopped in the mid 60s.
The Wanstead Fair attracted 'gangs' from all parts of West Ham and East Ham. It generally finished with Custom House and Canning Town gangs joining forces against a combined group of Stratford and Forest Gate gangs. East Ham didn't play much as their half of what became Newham in 1969, was considered 'posh'
It sounds stupid these days, but it was good clean fun. :)
Nobody was ever going to get shot or stabbed, and if you got knocked down, nobody treated your head like a football or dropped paving slabs on it.
At these Fun Fair fights you had to feel sorry for the Plaistow and Upton Park gangs. :^0 They didn't know who to side with as they were geographically in the middle between the other two lots. Should have relabelled them as Switzerland, but we had no idea about that at our age.
We were poorer then than kids are today.

So the leftie liberal namby pamby bbc had a programme where they predominantly featured black criminals - surely this doesn't fit into to the far right agenda that the true level of (black) crime is hidden by the pinko meeja? Wouldn't they feature a large amount of white crime - I'm confused?
BTW the vast maj of the prison population is white working class (in fact most are from a poor socio economic background whether white or black) and as we all know they are a dwindling bunch so how is that explained?

Local rag showed their photo section in last weeks edition. Over 8 pages were 40 junior school photos from different classes in different schools.
800+ children.
One asian, no blacks, three lightly tanned (probably Portuguese) ther rest were white.
Of course, all these children go on to senior schools, then into real life itself, and this area is not thriving with vacancies.
Yet the serious crime figures are virtually non-existent.
As you'd expect.

A HOUSE in Beckton was to be used to cut up heroin seized by police in what is believed to be the largest drugs haul of its kind in the UK.
Officers investigating the haul, in which uncut heroin with a street value of £30million was seized, were led to a house on York Close where the lethal drug was to be processed.
Jurors heard at Kingston Crown Court that Dutch national Patrick Kuster, 37, had brought 356kg of uncut heroin into the country in the boot of his mother's car on April 3, 2008.
Three boxes of the illegal substance with a street value of £5million were transferred to 32-year-old Harminda Chana's car at motorway services off the M20.
Police officers swooped to arrest the men and later that day 35-year-old Atif Khan was picked up at his Ilford home.
Here a set of keys to the property in York Close were found. It is thought that the house is where Mr Chana and Mr Khan would be further responsible for cutting and pressing the heroin before it was sent on to be sold.
A blue Ikea bag containing 20kg of Mannitol, which is used as a cutting agent, was found at the property.
Further intelligence led to the arrest of Khan's business partner Abdul Rob who prosecution lawyers argued, was responsible for arranging and financing the deal.
Rob, 30, was convicted of conspiracy to supply heroin at Kingston Crown Court. Khan pleaded guilty to the same charge on September 4, 2008 and
Kuster and Chana were convicted at trial on June 24 and 25, 2009 respectively.
Sentencing is due to take place at Kingston Crown Court on January 8.

Rissasy Nyimbi, 18, of Vanguard Close, Canning Town, brandished a knife before his friend Chris Mazekelua, 17, of Hooper Road, also Canning Town, stabbed Steven Lewis.
Steven was surrounded by teenagers dressed in black and chanting "shank him", while other partygoers used their mobile phones to film him being knifed in the heart.
Police were already at the scene in Whitwell Road, Plaistow, as part of an operation targeting knife-carrying youths. But when they tried to question witnesses they met a "wall of silence".
Only Steven's 16-year-old best friend had the courage to give evidence.
Mazekelua was last month jailed for life and ordered to serve 17 years after being convicted of murder.
Nyimbi was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter. He was studying business, finance, marketing and accountancy at A-level. He had no previous convictions.
Judge Timothy Pontius, QC, said last week: "This case provides yet another example of the horrifying tragedy which so often results when knives are carried. You both anticipated trouble and were ready to fight if necessary, using knives in order to do so.
"A young life barely on the threshold of adulthood has needlessly been lost and a family have been robbed of a son, grandson, brother and nephew.
"For his family that is far more than a mere statistic or just another name on the depressingly long list of young lives lost on our streets.''

Anthony Siequien, 49, of Hameway, Beckton, sexually assaulted the boys aged between 11 and 14 over a decade.
They were staying in the front room of a relative's house on separate occasions when Siequien crept over during the night.
Allan Compton, prosecuting, told Inner London Crown Court the abuse came to light after the latest victim attacked Siequien and complained to a relative.
Passing sentence, Judge Simon Davis told Siequien: "Only a custodial sentence is appropriate." He will also have to sign on as a sex offender for ten years.
Siequien admitted one sexual assault and four indecent assaults.

Shabbir Chowdhury, 44, pocketed £45,000 in Council Tax and Income Support handouts over four years while driving a Mercedes with a personalised number plate.
He bought 12 properties with £3 million worth of home loans across East London - including in Central Park Road, East Ham, and Keogh Road, Stratford - by fraudulently filling out mortgage forms, Inner London Crown Court heard.
The married father-of-four lied to lenders that he was earning between £53,000 and £74,000 a year as a marketing manager.
Former postman Chowdhury was also telling Newham Council and the Department of Work & Pensions he was penniless and too sick to work.
His crimes were exposed following a routine audit and he admitted benefit fraud at Inner London Crown Court.
He begged the court through his defence barrister to spare him jail because his wife and children depend on him and he has paid back the money he stole from the taxpayer.
Judge Robert Fraser told him such a course would be "remarkable".
Chowdhury, of Walthamstow, admitted six counts of making a false representation.

A RUTHLESS crime boss who kidnapped three prostitutes then demanded thousands of pounds from their families has been jailed for ten years but told he will not be deported to China.
Ming Zhuang, 25, a leader of a Chinese Snakehead gang, threatened to cut off his victims' breasts, chop them up and bury them in the garden if they did not comply with his orders.
The illegal immigrant was described as the organiser of the plot to beat blackmail and terrorise the women in separate incidents in February and March last year.
Accomplice Ming Chen, 24, who helped guard the third victim, was locked up for five and a half years at Southwark Crown Court.
But the pair will not be deported to China because they would face harsh sentences, including the death penalty, in a country that has 68 capital offences.
Judge Anthony Pitts said: "Ming Zhuang must have known that the first victims had been released and persons had been arrested.
"Undaunted he was to become again involved and said to be, by the third woman, the leader of the troops."

Accomplice Ming Chen, 24, who helped guard the third victim, was locked up for five and a half years at Southwark Crown Court.
But the pair will not be deported to China because they would face harsh sentences, including the death penalty, in a country that has 68 capital offences.
Judge Anthony Pitts said: "Ming Zhuang must have known that the first victims had been released and persons had been arrested.
"Undaunted he was to become again involved and said to be, by the third woman, the leader of the troops."
