Dear BBC,

Thank you for scheduling Live at the Apollo on Christmas Eve. Traditionally, I would go out and socialise with my friends and acquaintances, but once in a lifetime, there is a must-see moment which everyone uses as a frame of reference for future generations. My own personal 'Moon-landing' moment is the opportunity to see the comic stylings of not only the funniest woman in the world, but arguably, the funniest human being who ever has, or ever will, walk the earth. I am talking of course, about the legendary Gina Yashere.

The only quibble I have, is that an event of such magnitude should really be broadcast to the nation on BBC1 on Christmas Day itself, possibly at 3pm after we've all had our dinner. A thought for next year perhaps.

I just hope that I don't die of expectation in the final days running up to this, although I shall surely die of hilarity and joy, as Gina reveals her genius to her adopted nation.

Thanks forever.

I hope you've got multiple vcrs and sky+ going what with the selection that time on Christmas Eve:-
The Grumpy Guide to Christmas;
Christmas Carols with The Troops;
Celebrity Come Dine With Me Christmas Special.

just as well you probably have some time to catch up on all these during holiday time.

and a special Christmas Eve / New Years Eve double of Alan Carr too. What more could you ask for?

I've just seen Ant and Decs Christmas Special is on on Boxing Day - special guests are Robbie Williams, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden - this lineup comprises arguably the 5 biggest cnuts in the entire country and yet the viewing figures will be inexplicably high

Only tramps watch tv on xmas day,turn the box off and overstuff yourself and relax for a day.Enjoy the King George et al on Boxing day.

Xmas "specials" are such horrific "filmed in Sept" guff dunno how anyone can stomach them.

If all else fails aand your're still bored you can always ask the mother in law to w@nk you off
