to be a comedy it has to be 'funny'

what's funny about calling each other a **' 10 times???

british comedy is on it's knees....

the latest series has gone down hill a lot , used to find it funny before
Report salsabil5 • December 20, 2009 12:35 PM GMT
The series has simply ran out of gas, as in most popular sitcoms, they dont know when to pull up stumps
Report owl4life • December 20, 2009 12:36 PM GMT
a series 2 far, 1st 2 were great, finding nessa annoying now, in fact pretty much all of them are getting irritating

I've tried to watch this starting with the 1st series and the cast are certainly no mugs but aprt from mild amusement it doesn't do much for me.

Saw the new episodes and they really do need to pull the plug on this one talk about going through the motions.

Think of how many classics pulled out when on top..only the v v best

Blackadder,Fawtly,partridge,phoenix nights,the office.

I wish they'd draw stumps on the peep show actually as well

Never watched it but have been infuriated by everone else inflicting the comedey genius that is James Cordon on every show I normally enjoy. First against the wall and front of the never tire of punching queue.

Mildly amusing with occasional funnier bits

Bryn's a great character, as are the Essex Mum and Dad

The more talented, experienced mature actors occasionally show up the young'stars',
but light entertainment nonetheless

Like many comedy series, the first season is quite good but unless they have creative writers, the repetitive jokes soon start to wear thin and then you start to annoy people by just milking the cow !

The reason that Fawlty Towers is the nonpareil amongst British sitcoms is that, through force of circumstance, they drew stumps after 2 series.

G&S has become the victim of its own publicity. Someone elsewhere asked "Would it be as funny without the accents?" which hit the nail on the head IMO.

Series 1 and 2 were good- this one, they've just run out of ideas, and a great actress like Alison Steadman is reduced to hamming it up with poor f-arting jokes.

James Corden is a genuinely funny guy (as opposed to Mathew Horne), but only in the Harry Secombe (Neddy Seagoon) sense, as opposed to Rowan-Atkinson-funny.

And it has to be said-

Bryn and Stacey have got totally up-front Swansea accents, Gwen has got a Vale accent, and Doris a Rhondda/Cynon-Rhymney Valley accent.

Ness does a great Caaairdiff patois, as does Dave Coaches (though his sounds natural).

So, why are they all so bleddy passionate about Barry Island FFS?
