It's a set up by the anti-X-factor brigade.. big plunge on this , ala Ryan Giggs for SPOTY

Good luck to Rage Against The Machine

I'd be hugely suprirsed if it tops the X Factor no1, no chance. Plus the song is abit meh to me, not good at all.
Report aman201 • December 15, 2009 12:20 PM GMT
Who exactly decided this song would be the choice for this campaign, just seems abit random that this tune was chosen.
Report attitude adjuster • December 15, 2009 12:24 PM GMT
Beavis and B utthead apparently :)
Report cjhornet • December 15, 2009 12:24 PM GMT
The PR people for Epic Records probably
Report Dutchy Schwarz • December 15, 2009 12:25 PM GMT
John and Tracy Morter set up the group on facebook so I'd imagine that they decided on the tune. Couldn't have picked a better one, imo
Report HRH The Lager Khan • December 15, 2009 12:27 PM GMT
I think the question may have been asked "What is the most anti establishment son we can think of?" Or maybe they thought Zack and the boys tune had a certain underlying yuletide feelgood vibe to it.
Report HRH The Lager Khan • December 15, 2009 12:27 PM GMT
song not son ffs!

welcome to 'up the revolution - UK style'!!!! :^0

yeah we're gonna stick it to 'the man' by buying a download (or however u do it nowadays!!)
Report Six of Clubs • December 15, 2009 2:41 PM GMT
hate x factor, never watched it and i will be buying ratm from a download site so it gets measured for the charts.
Report Paulie Walnuts • December 15, 2009 2:43 PM GMT
Make sure you download it from a site that charges more than 40p or it won't count towards the charts.
Report Harry R Scrack • December 15, 2009 10:16 PM GMT
Remember hearing the full version on Radio 1 when it was out originally, someone there wasnt paying attention.

You have to laugh at the irony of this campaign! :)
Report Ted Brogan • December 15, 2009 10:37 PM GMT
Of course both artists are managed by Sony/EMI, so ultimately all it means is that they are getting an Xmas 1-2 rather than just an Xmas number 1. No doubt the whole RATM 'campaign' was dreamed up by a Sony exec who will be laughing all the way to the bank with his big fat bonus.

and even more at the dullards still commenting on it's irony,

you'd struggle to find a record (sorry download) not linked to major labels in some shape or form in the modern music industry - presumably it has far more to do with the irritation that is x factor and or it's presenter then any great pretensions of revolutionising the industry...

hopefully it gets to No.1 if only to annoy mugs that keep commenting on it's irony.
Report NEARCTIC • December 15, 2009 11:29 PM GMT
i bought the download and i dont even like ratm
Report inner city sumo • December 15, 2009 11:34 PM GMT
It seems to have been started by a couple of students on facebook, so is it about money though, or just having something different at number 1 for xmas instead of a Cowell karaoke singer every year. I still think the x factor winner will be #1 unfortunately, but it is a valiant effort to get something else there.
Report Far From Trouble • December 16, 2009 12:07 AM GMT
Think RATM are a load of horsesh1t tbh but i'd love it if they beat Simon COwell to No1 :)
Report big-game-player • December 16, 2009 5:00 AM GMT
there is nothing ironic about it and he couldnt tell you how..

he has prob read somewhere the money will go to cowell because he has shares in sony or epic whoever it is..

who cares, without the record company bands like these wouldnt exist.. same as michael morre and is documentaries.. someone has to pay for them to be shown etc....

x factor is forced upon the record buying public every year.. if your too stupid to see this then you have no hope and i hope you like your apathetic existence :)

come on rage... beat them to number one... it would make my year :0 and ive had a good year lol
Report big-game-player • December 16, 2009 5:02 AM GMT
is there any way we can check this battle day to day?
Report JamesBlakesHugeArse • December 16, 2009 6:09 AM GMT
i find it surprising that anyone cares

To be fair the X-Factor single isn't out until today
Report STEPTOES YARD • December 16, 2009 6:37 AM GMT
Surely its a good thing for cowell and x-factor

Nothing like a well publicised chart battle for sales

i hope x-factor gets to no1 now if only to annoy mugs that are evidently annoyed by people commenting on the ratm irony.

Too late for a Chit Chat inspired campaign to counter both records getting Xmas no 1? What if we all start frantically downloading Captain Sensible's 'Happy Talk' or something?

Cowell must be raging as he sits by his pool in LA, favourite tipple in one hand, favourite dusky maiden in the other, convertible Rolls in the drive, while his busty beauty :) Subo, has the no1 album and his lickle man Joe, battles for Xmas no 1 single :D

seems quite a bit of money has gone on ratm since last night

ratm will give any proceeds to charity

forgotten what a powerful song it was (at time of original release at least)

got a nice white vinyl version somewhere ---

keep buying, keep annoying Easter

As much I would love to see Cowell's manipulation of the brain dead fail I can't see it.
It's all the chavvy wanabees that buy this sh*t and there is a hell of a lot of them around these days.
