The Queen Ch 4 now

The Queen
Susan Jameson stars as the Queen in 1986, during one of the biggest constitutional crises of her reign. Pressures between the monarchy and Margaret Thatcher's Downing Street reach fever pitch as the prime minister's refusal to impose sanctions against the apartheid regime of South Africa threatens to create a devastating schism in the Commonwealth. Continues tomorrow

Queen v Thatcher...

I'm not sure what to make of it. It's certainly worth watching compared to the other guff that's on, but it's a bit of a strange cut of a docusoap.

Looks like a victory of democracy over the monarchy so far. Everyone shall be pleased, no doubt.

Switching to BBC4 ......will tape The Queen....

Storyville : Simon Mann's African Coup - Black Beach :
Filmed over the course of 18 months, this documentary sheds light on the circumstances that led Equatorial Guinea's president Teodoro Obiang Ngeuma Mbasogo to imprison British-born mercenary Simon Mann, who claimed to be part of an organised Western plot to seize control of Obiang's country

Hmm, will stick with this and "tape" the other ("tape"? you old grandad ;) ), got an early start tom.
