Spent nearly a year working there in 2002/03. Not somewhere I'd choose for my holidays, but a good base for the region.

What you on about mate Bangkok is the ladyboy Capital, there is actually not too many here.

Hah - you've got my number Toon, did indeed go to Blok M a couple of times. Didn't actually spend many weekends in The Big Durian itself though - used to get a boat from the marina out to one of the islands and do a bit of snorkelling, or get a short flight somewhere (e.g. Singapore, Bangkok, Bali, Yogyakarta). Plus our company had offices in KL (it was the client that was in Jakarta) so I spent quite a bit of time there as well.
