Personally, I think Tuesday is the best day and it's not even close (even with the disappointing news about CH). Reason is that I think the Tuesday has the best, most competitive racing over the 4 days with a decent amount of variety. There's also the huge sense of anticipation and pure joy amongst the crowd on the Tuesday. Later in the week the hangovers and losses kick in a little!
I'm lucky enough to have not missed many days at Cheltenham over the last 20 years and in order of preference it's Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday then Friday for me.
Good luck to you Alun and enjoy whichever day you go.

Take it back the Tuesday looking like well below normal standard with Constitution Hill out and Ballyburn perhaps going to the Wednesday race the Supreme will be a bit sub-standard.
The Arkle looks below average as well. The handicaps never inspire me that much.

This is the first year I can honestly say I really am not that excited for the festival. It has been on a downward spiral for a while and now it has hit rock bottom. The whole, will he run here or there, and uncompetitive races with so many options has killed this once great meeting. I haven't been to the meeting for 18 years, I much prefer the November meeting where the wife and I catch up with friends. Easily get a bet on, have a drink/food and use the lavatories without missing a race.

With Constitution Hill and Marine Nationale out it has to be friday ie The Triumph and Gold Cup; Sir Gino in the former, and Galopin Des Champs and possibly Shishkin in the latter - a reigning champion and a possibly new underachieving champion.
The rest I'm not truly bothered unless The Supreme throws up another "supreme" winner eg Altior, Douvan or Shishkin.

Turned out to be the Friday for me betting wise. Sine Nomine was my longest priced winner and a place on Marsh Warbler also paid well. Turned round my meeting after a very poor day on Wednesday and small loss on Thursday. Chianti Classico the other highlight.
