If Mullins (or the others) had made the final decision, they'd not need to enter all the horses in all the races.
OP may be right that Mullins has "a very good idea by now". But it can only be misleading to punters if that is taken as his final decision. Not to mention, of course, that the decision is not Mullins' alone, as owners must also be consulted. |

I would think he knows what he would like to send where but he keeps his options open for instances like the injury to Ferny Hollow. Obviously some people in the know do get some tasty prices

He has stated that Kilcruit is likely to go for the Supreme after his win today.
Surely he wouldn't run all 3 !?!? |
By:
In the past few years, Willie Mullins has always run at least two in the Supreme.
4 2015 3 2016 4 2017 2 2018 2 2019 3 2020 2 2021 So yes, he might run all three. |
By:
Kilcruit looked like a proper galloper, relentless but very one paced, is he going to try and take on Dysart Dynamo for the lead? But possibly best trying to make all so I just can’t see the both of them lining up.
Surely Kilcruit looks best in the Ballymore or even Albert Bartlett with his style of running? His only chance in the supreme would be to have a few lengths lead turning for home as he won’t have the after burners to live with the top three. |

Willie after Kilcruit won today: ""I don't know if we run him again before Cheltenham. I imagine he'll go to the Supreme."
It has taken Kilcruit three races to break his maiden, all at two miles, and if he does go straight to Cheltenham then obviously they cannot try him over further before then. It is not impossible, of course, but... https://www.racingpost.com/news/race-reports/kilcruit-makes-it-third-time-lucky-with-first-hurdle-win-for-mullins-and-townend/535273 |

To the OP, you actually think Mullins would give a straight answer if asked? Behave man.
|
By:
You don't know if you don't ask. At least he might have to think of an answer.

Kilcruit ran over 2m 4f last time.
He appeared not to stay that day but it may have been he was struggling with his breathing. At the start of the season Willie said Kilcruit for the Supreme and Gerhard for the Ballymore. Ruby has said when he rode Gerhard he was all speed. It's impossible to second guess this lot. |
By:
@brandyontherocks is right, and I was wrong. Mullins did try Kilcruit over 2m4f over Christmas, when he came third behind Journey With Me. He appeared not to get the trip.
|
By:
If it helps, if I've counted correctly, Willie Mullins has 21 horses entered in the Supreme. Obviously, most will run in other races or will stay at home. But it is not just the three that he is juggling.
|
By:
Very true Ram.
He has a well bred French recruit called State Man running over 2m today also. |
By:
As I recall Ruby was inferring that Kilcruit was worked with kid gloves and nothing serious was done with him until Xmas at least , a fragile horse .
|
By:
I find it laughable that anyone could be sure which novices they will run in which races 6 weeks ahead. It will depend on how they work at the end of February.

To the OP, you actually think Mullins would give a straight answer if asked? Behave man." As sage says willie wont know himself until a week or two before the festival Its almost impossible to get a thoroughbred 100% right on any given day You dont know how they are going to wake up some mornings |

He wants the willie mullins hotline [.
