Leonardo's pretty much spot on. His policy seems to be pick a Hobbs horse, form this season irrelevant.

last year he had 13 selctions, if u look at my topic, "last year pricewise selections", 2 winners out of them al feorf at 16 and captain chris at 16's, so still even tho he only had 2 winners, also other placed horse when selecting each way, he still had a profitable festival at level stakes, think some people are missing out the concept of "pricewise" his selctions are done so he only has to have 1 or 2 winners out of 10-15 to still be in profit, so yes maybe none of them will win but what about the one you dont back that comes in at 25's?

fair enough Denman but I would say the 5 races he has given tips for so far are far harder to get an upset in than the Supreme Novices and the Arkle where the form is far less exposed compared to the WH and CH for example

I'm not slating him generally denman. In fact I think he's a fantastic tipster. However this year I just can't have some of his antepost tips. To be fair though I've disagreed before (such as last year) and been proven wrong. In general I think he does a much better job with handicaps than graded races (despite last year's antepost tips).

ok are any of his selections e.w for this year so far, i was just using my arguement on all of his selections from last years festival as only 5 selctions so far as to a full selction from last year, even on last year im sure people were thinking the same as this yeart but at the average price he only has to select 1 winner out of 13 to break even, 2 is a decent profit and so on, but for me i do back him sometimes but im selective about which ones i do last year my self ante post winners i had sizing europe at 14's captain chris 16 and hurricane fly at 3's so i was happy with a decent profit, then again this year cud be different!

I seem to remember that he picked out What A Charm in the Fred Winter on the day last year. I'm still in awe of when he put up A New Story at 40/1 during the 09 festival which duly won

I'm not really a fan of Pricewise, but was interesting debate last year over what he'd pick for the major races and then seeing a sea of blue on oddschecker once a week. I don't know when he does this years selections, but I'm sure it was round this time last year that he picked his Gold Cup selection - Captain Chris.
Any guesses what he might pick this year for the CGC, or some of the other races?
I think he'll go First Lieutenent @ 12/1, as I'm pretty sure he put him up for the RSA.
I also think he'll go Overturn for the Arkle @ 8/1.

This video was put on youtube last week from Racing Post. Is it definitely Flemenstar as his Pricewise selection because he talks up Flemenstar but states out right that he doesn't think he can win it. Seems much more impressed with SDC as a Gold Cup horse. He doesn't even know Silviniaco Conti's name so I would doubt it's him!
If he hasn't completely contradicted himself by picking Flemenstar then it wouldn't surprise me if he chose Captain Chris...again, or SDC.

Jury is out with me whether he stays or not. I think a few people have written him off far too quickly over 3m+.
I've said on another thread, if he wins the Irish Hennessey well (which I expect him to), the Gold Cup picture completely changes.
I really thought he'd pick FL because of his festival record and he picked him last year. I'd be fairly confident Flemenstar would outstay FL though, but its all a game of opinions.

Haha, nice to hear from you to wellchief. I'll make sure I don't offend you on here, wouldn't want to hurt your image on the forum! Certainly looking like SDC judging by all the blue on oddschecker.
As for a couple of the other Championship races I think he might go:
CH: Oscar Whisky/Cinders & Ashes QM: Finians Rainbow/Days Hotel

I am a PW fan but not an ardent follower. Based on his Festival AP selections last year I would suggest avoiding this years tips is a good way of narrowing the field to find the actual winner. He has to look for the "value" bet and a lot of the value in the big Championship races is already gone by now. He stated recently he really likes Flemenstar and expects him to win next time out over 3 miles but he doesnt believe Flemenstar is a Gold Cup winner. He obviously thinks he is the "value" bet just in case he gets the extra 2 furlongs up the hill but not the best chance of winning which is a subtle difference so be careful about following PW Festival AP selections. Look at last years performance and take heed.

For those who want to hear what PW had to say about Flemenstar it is on Racing Post TV on 1st January 2102 under the title "Road to Cheltenham". Actually says "I am a massive Flemenstar fan but I dont see him winning a Gold Cup" and then goes on to say "think SDC is the Lexus horse with best chance to win the Gold Cup".
