which article was that cos i read in mark howards book that 2m4f was his distance which i think is stupid he was cruising 3 out in the ballymore and dident get home nor did he get home in the challow over 2m ridden forcefully he could be very exciting.the arkle market needs a good performance cant have ghizao at all not enough class
|
By:
problem is trainer cant train a horse to jump
|
By:
Really like this horse but cant back it as i believe it wil go for the 2m4f race
|
By:
Dananders
One day you will post something that isn't complete tripe. I wont hold my breath. |
By:
walofs Dananders, his horses generally jump well and they dont he wont send them chasing.
I see the horse is entered over 2m1f & 2m4f at newbury next week. |
By:
IS, dont get drawn in by dananderson, he either talks through his pocket or talks garbage, main reason why a few lads post on here less than they did.
|
By:
R Carver
Surely a complete simpleton such as Dananders wouldn't put off any serious posters ? |
By:
Don't know how to reply to that.... ! For every DA there are 10 good posters, true, but the lunatics do get a little tiring.. |
By:
very much looking forward to seeing him translate the way he travelled through his races over hurdles, to fences, encouraging that geraghty is raving about him....fingers crossed for next week.
|
By:
i've had a small bet on him for the Arkle at 33/1.
|
By:
I'm on for the Arkle from a few months ago and although the new 2m4f race is a potential spanner in the works I still envisage the Arkle as the ideal race for him - assuming he can translate his hurdles form over the larger obstacles.
|
By:
Only worry with Finian's Rainbow is he has only run in decent opposition twice and been done for toe in both which wouldnt be a good sign for an Arkle. In lesser company he has won as you would expect but when asked to step up on that he hasnt been able to. Beat a Curley favourite amongst his wins. Can see him and Celestial Halo taking each other on in the 2m 4f new novice chase at the Festival where this turn of foot doesnt need to be so pronounced.

By:
I personally thought he travelled well in both the two races he lost, but just didn't see out the distance in either of them.
Drop back to 2 miles will suit imo. |
By:
According to trainer:
He is crying out for fences and I believe he will be very good. I would think that two and a half miles will be his trip. |
By:
he is not slow if u watched both his defeats last season he travelled great but dident last home .gergaghtys fav horse apparently
|
By:
finians travelled the best horse in the race in the neptune...he got out stayed....and although you'd ideally need to stay further than 2 miles to win the arkle......i'm completely suckered into this horse because of the way i can imagine him travelling, hopefully with another year on his back he'll be able to get the extra half mile which will help him finish the 2 miles off effectively.

Spirit River the stables Arkle horse for me
|
By:
TBH I know it's same owner and trainer but both look Arkle horses to me and if anything Spirit River would be more comfortable over further.
|
By:
I should have referenced the Article..It was in the T imes Stable inteview about a weeks ago. NJH said something along the lines of you might be be suprised but I am aiming Finians Rainbow at the Arkle as think he is more of a 2m horse...plenty of speed etc. I am a fan of OJA and saw the 2m 4 quote but it was from the summer and this was days ago. I guess the Newbury race selection will be interesting but will not give hope if runs in 2m 4 as could still drop back. I just like the look at 33's
|
By:
one last think for an earlier poster
2009-10 Hurdle 25% Chase 28% If only he could train jumpers..... |
By:
2mile race and Barry on board...yipeee the dream is still alive
|
By:
im sorry when do i talk thropugh my pocket? but it seems that most of hendersons higher class horses are dodgy jumpers . cant beat royal charm anyway this thing wouldnt put me off that nicholls is saying arkle not the right race thats garbage
|
By:
dandanderson is very bias to paul nicholls
|
By:
3 runner race tomorrow at newbury
|
By:
4-7 bank job
|
By:
not convinced i'd want to go in full bank job on any horse making it's chase debut. let alone one faced with a serious rival in sang bleu. i'd rather back it in-running once it's jumped a few even if your'e taking a shorter price.
If you don't believe me take a look at this foineggas or however you spell it in ireland a few days back, got sent off 1.5 and didn't even make it past the first fence! tommorows bank job is tell massini, jumped super at stratford. |
By:
I have a nice lump for the Arkle but not a chance would back at odds on..why? first time and can improve and still win the Arkle.
|
By:
could be arkle fav after tomoro if putting up a good show....question is ...is it the best in stable?
buckley could have fr in the arkle, surfing in the 2.5m and sriver in the rsa,or his dads race...exciting times |
By:
one dodgy jump...but on the whole...mightily impressive i'd say.
|
By:
A most pleasing debut - got in close to one or two down the back and brushed through the top, but he really flew the fences in the straight especially the water jump
|
By:
Im on him at flashy prices but 2nd fav now after beating nothing much is over doing it. More to do with lack of form of some of the principles.
|
By:
hardly beat nothing wasant hells bay 2nd to time for rupert the other day yet fininas just steamrolled him and sang bleu is very highely regarded by nicholls .excellent debut over fences id prefer him to ghizao any day of the week
|
By:
Howdi - it was my opinion before any of this seasons novices had jumped a fence that he was the most likely winner of the Arkle (and therefore in my book he'd have been favourite). Thnakfully the bookies and layers on here didn't agree so I have some decent looking bets between 30-40.
Now he has showed he is alive and well and can jump a fence at speed I don't see anthting wrong with him being 2nd fav. |
By:
oh good god...ghizao is the latest version of loosen my load....plenty better hurdlers than him to come over fences...i know it's a differen thing jumping fences...but i'd be surprised if ghizao isn't a good few notches down the pecking order come march....plus murphy got off him and said he is ground dependant and needs it soft.
|
By:
agree uncle buthad the main players turned up (and they still might) on his hurdles form 2nd fav looks tad high for me that said im on at same prices as you as i thought he was few points too high in the market.
